(Rotoworld) The Cowboys plan to meet with free agent DE Demarcus Lawrence's agent.

Analysis: The Cowboys already met with the reps for Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper and Byron Jones. Re-signing Lawrence may take precedence over extensions with the franchise tag deadline looming. Lawrence has threatened to hold out if franchised again this year.

He'll be tagged. The deadline for using the tag is Tuesday. There won't be enough time to get a deal done by then. Using the tag will add much needed tension to the negotiations and give the parties until June to hammer out a long-term deal.

This is the only team I know that has to have a whole drama filled 13 episode season just to do something like sign someone

For once...just once just sign a man and leave the theatrics to someone else

If there is no extension agreed upon, then the Boys will have to tag Tank to keep him, which will immediately eat up $20 million of cap space.

Tagging Tank will not be the end of the discussion, thankfully. The sides would have until July 15 to work out a new deal before the negotiating window closes.

Pay the man! You dont have a choice, it was only a couple years ago you were ranting about finding a war daddy and now you got one staring you in the face!
Hurry up and get him signed because Grady Jarett and Earl Thomas are on the phone. Nick Foles called and said if you sign those guys he would give you the discount that Daks not willing to give you.

Great use of Puttyism :bow::bow: Now you can see what the Cowboys are doing to get deals done-Puttyism at it's best :bow::bow:

PS Tell Putty I said Hi :):):)

Cowboys are in a tough spot. Tank, is a key player for this team that must be signed, but he’s asking for more money than he’s worth.

The tag only counts against the cap officially when signed by the player... as until it is signed it can be rescinded (see JPP / Giants )
Now of course unofficially Dallas will have to keep that 20 million. ( I think it’s 19.5 ) to the side in the event he decides to sign ..

Jeez, Louise -- it's definitely a long, long line of all those awaiting their just rewards!
I certainly do hope there's enough dough in Jerry's piggy bank for all of 'em!
Dlaw is the only must do now, the others are want to do
Dlaw is about to be a FA so the clock is ticking
