Honeybadger got that name because of how physical he was....Adoree Jackson plays much smaller than Honeybadger.

I'm sort of on the fence about Jackson, but he's an incredible athlete to still be available at the end of the 2nd. No way I'd burn a 1st on him, but a 2nd rounder maybe.

If the draft fell the way they mock it, I'd probably prefer Kevin King.

I just meant, you cant determine on height alone like they tended to previously.

I'm not sure if McKinley can be on the field enough in our 4-3 defense. Seems better suited for less pounding at a 3-4 outside linebacker position. But, maybe I'm wrong about that.

I'd like the Jackson pick because of several factors.

One, the world-class measurable and athleticism are there
Two, he's got the versatility to help the Cowboys in a number of ways - cornerback, both returns, and maybe even some offense (jet sweep)
Three, his game as a corner greatly improved in 2016 and should only get better with quality NFL coaching.

I wouldn't mind seeing him there in round 2 at all.

I'm sorry but with us starting Gregory as anevery down DE I can't say any guy bigger than him can't take a pounding.

I like Lewis a lot and also Sutton. Hopefully 1 is available at our 2nd because teams reach on taller guys. CB is 1 of those positions you need more than just athletic ability to play, a lot of instincts involved. A guy like Jackson would get eaten alive by NFL WR's right now imo.
LewIs is my 3rd favorite CB after Quincy Wilson and Sidney Jones. He has the talent and athleticism needed to be a pain in the *** for offensive coordinators. Would be a huge boost to our secondary.

No need to be sorry, but do you think we've ever played Gregory as an "every down guy", even on the rare occasions when he wasn't suspended?

What's it going to be then, eh?

Pretty sad when you can take a wide brush like this and wipe out a swath of good rushers because of the limited scheme we run.

It's just an opinion. Nothing written in stone. I'd just like a player with more height outside. A personal preference. I think Charlton has the prototypical body-type for it.

I think he was going to be every down until his ankle sprain week 1 vs ny in 2015

Yes, he needs improvement on those numbers, but I think it's correctable. He did give up a lot of TDs, but he also picked off just as many. This tells me that he gambles and may be a little too aggressive at times playing the ball, i.e. going for the pick or biting too hard on a pump fake. With that said, he is smooth with his back pedal and turns his hips well to go along with that blazing speed. These are traits that's VERY transferable to the next level. He's also been known to bait the QB so he can break on the ball. This may or may not get him into trouble at the next level, but I think that's just the type of player he is, a gambler. He's pretty good at it so I don't think you can penalize him for wanting to make a play though.

The thing I think he really excels at is the deep 50/50 ball. He attacks the ball at the high point as if he were the receiver. He's also a guy who know what to do with the ball in his hands after a pick and the potential for six is always there.

As for his tackling, I agree it's not great. I don't think he'll ever be a great tackler, but I can live with that if his coverage skills reaches its potential. I do think he may be able to improve on it though as he adds more weight. As RS12 mentioned, he's an Olympic level athlete, meaning he was on the track team and most likely had to keep his weight down because of it. With an additional 10 to 15lbs., he may be a bit more stout at the point of attack....

Very good post. I was thinking Janoris Jenkins as a comparison.
I will say this about AJ. He was the only player that impressed me when USC played Alabama. I didn't know anything about him and came away from that game saying, "That USC kid is really fast."
