Jorge Dunham, former Cowboys stadium announcer, is at Valley Ranch broadcasting for KTCK says he talked to a staff member who will be in the War Room tonight who said the chances of moving way up to get Dez Bryant is unlikely. Too much involved in draft picks and money compensation. If he's there at 27, he absolutely will be the pick. They like him better than Earl Thomas, although they like Thomas too.

He said that Dez Bryant absolutely does love football and is all about football. People worry about the people he's surrounded himself with (see Crabtree's advisorss and entourage). Also the Deion connection. They don't want Dez on with Deion having a 1 on 1 on the NFL Network in Week 8 with Deion asking him "What's the deal? Why aren't your coaches using you better?" and airing out the team's dirty laundry.

They think the 27th pick in the draft is the sweet spot in the draft. They'll have a choice of several players they like, plus a whole lot of offers for teams trying to move up into the late 1st to snag a guy before the end of Day 1.

This is how annoying Deion Sanders is - ladies and gents.

On the other hand, I'm guessing Irvin would be going bonkers for Dez Bryant if we got him. I could see him taking an active role in mentoring him too.

I'm still on record of predicting a trade down.

No sig bets however. :D

have a feeling we are not going to see a cowboys pick tonight.

Don't think Irvin will tread on Deion's territory. They are too good of friends for him to do that. He might mentor him and help him. But I don't think Dez might TO type. Heck no one is TO type. TO is just unique idiotic character onto himself. Guy who finds different ways to get himself kicked of every team he has been on.

I've felt that way for months. There's gonna be a QB there that some bad team in the early 2nd wants.

Obviously I meant in terms of practice habits and preparation. Not the other stuff.
I know, Mike is my #3 Cowboy of all time. Love me some Mike.

They say this every year, regardless of our draft position.

I don't think it has to be a QB for some team to move up.

That Crabtree thing is a big deal. It's going to be really difficult environment in the NFL signing draft picks with the CBA issues. Jerry mentioned it in his press conference. A lot of people are expecting a lot of holdouts. So you surround yourself with Crabtree's advisors and people and you're basically telling people "No matter where you draft me, I'm a top 10 talent and I'm going to expect Top 10 money and I'll hold out to do it." That's going to scare a lot of teams off.
