I would say earliest they look at him would be 3rd round. His injury was quite a bit more serious than Carter and Lee.

I'm pulling for the kid and think he would be a good player for the Cowboys but would not use a 2nd on him.

I wouldnt use a second on him either ... but if im reading the tea leaves right we are getting a Safety in the first ... either Vacarro from TX or Reid from LSU. And with JJ wanting to make a media splash like always he could very well reach for lattimore in the second.

I'd absolutely take him in the second although that would depend on my board, needs, and who else is available. I have them taking a RB or WR in the 3rd or later but Lattimore is a legitimate NFL starting every down back. His injuries have been repaired and these guys are often better than new when they get back and that's in both legs not just the injured one.

His previous injuries are not a prediction of repeat injuries at all. If drafted he should be able to help a team immediately.

Unless I'm wrong, I think his injuries will prevent him from playing in 2013. I can't see us spending a 2nd rounder this year when we have so many needs.

He's predicted to play this year. He worked out at his pro day and did well although he didn't run. So that confused me some. Andrews said his progress was fantastic.

IMO first 3 picks need to be

OL
DL
Safety

In no order based on our board
There is starting caliber value for all these positions in this draft and these are our major positions of need

We can get 3 starters from our 1-3 picks in this draft

Lets not get cute

If we ignore these and pick a RB I am liable to throw something at my TV

A trade down would really help us IMO. I think that if we could pull off a trade down and pick up another pick in the 1st 3 rounds, we could get ourselves a RT and with that 4th Rd pick, a RB. In the 5th and 6th, we could pick up another WR and or QB, whichever has value.

This I can agree with though I would be partial to another OL (since starters like bailey and schwenke will be available in rd 3) or DE over RB since I don't see the diff between a rd 3 vs rd 4 RB in this draft

I've heard nothing but good about the young man but I wouldn't do it until the 5th. Too much good in 1-4 to be had.

I would move up into the 3rd and take a flyer. Redshirt him for a year then see what you have in year two. Could be a real steal.

Right now it appears he will play this year. I don't know his time table but he appears to be one of those 6 months guys which I still see as completely fantastic. Right now he can participate in OTAs and minicamp although they probably won't let him cut and run hard.

I've not figured out who he reminds me of yet.

Having said that I agree that we have other more pressing needs and I wouldn't take him unless we had an extra pick in the first three rds.

I still think he will go in the late first or early second assuming he continues to progress well.

OL and S need to be our first 2 picks.
Spend a 3rd on Lattimore, I think that's where his value is. That injury was pretty gruesome.

I think we could trade down in the second, and pick up an extra 4th.

I think if we can drop a bit in the second and pick up Rambo, we would be in good shape. Pick up DL in the 4th.

If he falls to us in the second I can see them deliberating it. If in the third I'd pull the trigger if the doctors give him a pass and his work outs indicate he can play this year.

I wouldn't screw around trading up for him. Unless he turns out to be another AP then he's just a good RB and that's no longer that big a deal. Players like him don't grow on trees but I'm not selling the kids to get the guy either.
