WASHINGTON - LaVar Arrington, a former member of the Washington Commanders and New York Giants, has been seriously hurt in a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon. Prince George's County Fire tells WTOP that Arrington is in serious condition after the crash near Route 50 and the Capital Beltway.
Channel 9 reports Arrington was taken to Prince George's Hospital Center.
Arrington was drafted by the Commanders out of Penn State in 2000. He was cut by the New York Giants this year after suffering a season-ending foot injury.

Prince George's Hospital Center is not the best place to get care, I guess it was the closest hospital, from his accident. I hope he will be OK.

WASHINGTON -- Former Washington Commanders linebacker LaVar Arrington was injured Monday afternoon in a motorcycle accident in Prince George's County, according to police.

The incident happened at about 1 p.m. on a ramp from westbound Route 50 to the Outer Loop of the Beltway.

Arrington apparently lost control of his motorcycle and hit a guardrail, officials said.

He was transported to Prince George's County Hospital with what officials described as "non-life-threatening" injuries.

State police are investigating.

Michael Smith on NFL Live just reported that Arrington sustained a broken arm and broke his leg in three different places. On top of the achilles injury from last year he was currently rehabbing, he is almost assuredly out for the entire 2007 season. Another blow for a Giants team who was already looking like they would finish at the cellar of the NFC East.

Per ESPN, has a broken forearm and broke his leg in 3 places. This according to his agent Posten.

Gone for this upcoming year.

Wouldn't that make his career done? because why was Theisman done after his leg broke in 2?

I hate to see anyone get hurt. He should have learn from Rothlesberger and Winslow to leave those things alone.

He was pretty much done anyways...with these types of injuries I cannot see him coming back. He does have some media experience though, so he can probably land a spot somewhere.

Theesman's leg was a compound fracture of both bones. Arrington may not have completely broken either bone.

Apparently Arrington was planning on retiring, he just was hoping that he could make a comeback... His speed as we all know made him a terror to play against.. but after that achilles injury and all his previous ones incurred, he lost his great explosiveness and now he is a pedestrian player.... to be honest.

Arrington was best along the line playing DE, because his responibilities were not so complicated as a LB's. We all know Arrington liked to freelance, something Gary Williams' disliked because his system is so oriented on zones and structure.

Honestly I don't know why he went to NY, since Coughlin is just as much of a stickler for structure on the field as well.

Either way, I hope the guy can just make it out of this all with his life, even if it IS his arm and maybe leg that are broken. The guy has boatloads of money...though I think his pride is what is in short stock. I say go to the carribean and drink pina coladas for the rest of your life and forget about the NFL.
