LB play is not good - they are slow. One weakness on D

Be aggressive and address. Trade for a better lb especially since Micah is rushing consistently

NO. No reason too. Save the draft pick for a rook next April.
They already have their rook on IR in Overshown. I think folks need to calm down about this. Outside of LVE none of the guys has any NFL experience. Hell Bell is out there playing LB probably for the first time since Pop Warner. You can see that he simply forgets what to do at times. There were a couple of plays where he was caught not knowing if he was supposed to drop or come up. That's going to happen with so many inexperienced guys at the position. I fully expect it to get better as the season wears on.

Ding dong...Bell. LVE is part of a system of pictures and is growing on rushing skills. And Overshown was a tough first year loss, but the safeties have filled in well except for rushing quarterbacks. That better have a handle for San Francisco and Philadelphia.

Otherwise, the linebackers are holding their missions to this fan as well.

Very few negatives these days but there were two plays (that I noticed) in particular where LVE looked terribly slow.

I’m not up for complaining but since it was mentioned I’m not gonna pretend that I didn’t notice.

I’m just sitting here basking in the memories of when we just didn’t have any players at a position in years past, and now we have the luxury to complain that we don’t have an all pro at every spot on the field lol.

By all means let’s draft one, but we are fine with the talent we have. Let Clark develop. Overshown will be here next here.

The group isn't all World, but they played a very good running team, so relax and enjoy yet another stomping.
Hall had 9 yards.

Some people would complain about a perfectly good wake and shake.

It's most definitely the weakest part of the defense but it's probably still above average as a position group when compared to the rest of the league.

Another thread I don't really get.

We all know LVE isn't the linebacker from 2018. He doesn't hit with extreme violence, nor is he that athletic glimpse we saw his rookie year.
But I'm not seeing a weakness there among LVE, Clark and Bell. Sure, could there be better players there? Yea. But this isn't the days of Scott Shanle, Ryan Fowler, Markus Steele level linebackers.
2 of the three are virtually rookie linebackers. Bell, moreso being a converted safety and well being small for even a nickel backer.

I see no reason to sign/trade now for anyone. Let the young guys get the snaps now. Revisit around the TDL if there is a decline.

Some good posts in this thread but trading for a "speedy" LB is not one of them.

Jets did their damage against the NY Buffalos a lot running inside. We got Mazi to keep the 2nd level more clean and LVE's assignment was to patrol the middle. DQ didn't want his D to be gouged through the defensive A, B, & C gaps . Anything outside that was was just gravy. It was no secret that before the game the Jets needed to run. DQ set up LVE to guard the middle of the D.

Once we scored and then scored again their run game became less of the threat although we still played it most of the time LVE did rush the passer some from his mid defensive positioning.

I'm just so proud of our defensive gaming, our players, and what they're doing. It is a thrill to watch good defensive football. No need to trade for more personnel nor criticize this D.
