News: LBS: Amari Cooper explains why he plays through injury

Dirt...

Tougher then many people understand. Could have been one of the all-time greats, but always digged up.

Playing through pain is hard and every circumstance is different.

He’s a frustrating player.

In all honesty the way this current league is built he should be the best WR in football by a lot because he has a strong build but still fluid and a amazing route runner.

Physically he’s a much more gifted Antonio Brown.
Its why he was a top 4 pick.

To your earlier point, despite being nicked up alot, his season numbers have been very consistent. You can pretty much mark him down for 75-90 and 1000k+. However you want to see more out of one of the most gifted WR's in football.

IMO there is a very good chance Lamb becomes both the #1 target and the #1 focus of defenses for good by the time Coopers ribs heal

He's hurt and in pain, but he's still gonna give you 8 catches for 115 and 2 TDs Monday.
This is my question. I know the answer but, There’s a difference between being hurt, and being in pain. You have to know the difference

Maybe the ribs will help him forget about the bum foot.....a condition that never really heals.

He has been playing at a very high level lately, and is a great WR....in his own kind of way.

20m is a tad high given the depth at the position and very unbalanced cap dollar allocation between offense and defense but whatever....that's definitely a subject for later on.

Guessing this post will someday contribute to a future..."I don't get all the Cooper hate" thread, although it isn't that.

if they cut him after the season, the cap hit is 6mill

Does he explain why he disappears in so many games, particularly road games, and big games?

I think Lamb is already becoming the #1 receiver.
Cooper to me is your average NFL receiver with above average speed.
I think Lamb is more gifted as a receiver. He'll show you the "oh, wow" occasionally.....

If he didn’t play injured then he would never play. Dude is always injured.
As many coaches ask their players are you injured or are you hurt? In HS I played with broken fingers, hyper extended knee, separated shoulder, a nasty triceps contusion, a hip flexor and groin strain. When I played lacrosse minus the knee and finger much of the same.

I will be interested to see how often they target him. Put a WR out there with a cracked rib and he's an easy target because every DB knows where that rib is. If he is to be a factor, he needs to be in patterns to protect that rib and the means staying out of the middle of the field. Let the others work that area.

I think he will serve as more of a decoy and Lamb, Wilson, Pollard, Elliott and Schultz will be more in the game.

I don't know about target fact is WR takes a lot of hits in the mid section that is where you are you are taught to hit, it is also where the ball carrier to tuck the ball in to their mid section so DB going to try and dislodge the ball. Really a bad injury for any position and I would say a bit more so with WR who tend to be exposed in that area as they have to go up and make the catch leaving ribs completely exposed.

He is definitely one of the very best. He’s been in the pro bowl every year almost.

This deserves so many more likes than it’s gotten! Absolutely true. The guy is ultra dramatic every time he gets tackled. Takes him a year to get off the ground usually
trying jumping up with a cracked rib you obviously never had one it hurts to breathe, move, and sneeze can put you in the hospital..hes not dramatic dudes plays a warriors sport and you calling him out from behind your safe keyboard..well ok thats brave..you comfy brah?
