Ingram surprises me. I didn't think he would do that well. That is a nice number for Curry also.

Irvin is just off the chart.

Irvin has great numbers but he is doing that with a safeties build. He is up to 245 but that's really light compared to the other guys on the list. Can he seal the edge versus the run?

I think this is why he isn't a first round guy.

I think Irvin is a WOLB all day. I'm not knocking him, put I would have concerns about his ability to set the edge. I would love him as a nickel pass rusher though. In any front, 4-3; 3-4, etc...

Someone will reach and take him in the 1st.

If memory serves me correct, Parcells wanted to pick Spears first than get Ware with our 2nd first rd. pick. The scouts had to tell Jerry that Ware would not be there when the Cowboys pick there 2nd 1st rounder because the Chargers were right behind them and wanted Ware. Good thing Jones listen to his scouts instead of the coach at that time.

BP himself admitted he felt he had to come out of the draft with Spears for his "new" 3-4 defense. Getting the 2nd first round pick freed us up to take Ware whom the scouts were all drooling over.

Spencer's 3 cone was 7.14 and 20 yard shuttle was 4.43

Spencer has the right tools. Getting them out of the tool shed appears to be the problem. FYI, I like Spencer as a SOLB. Like not Love.:)

If you can replace Spencer with a Spencer clone for 2-3 mil per year for the next 4 years you take that all day.

If you get an upgrade for the cheap rookie costs then it is a mother lode.

Spencer is an average NFL player but is looking at star player money. What you hope is you can bring in another average player at average player money who looks better than he is because he gets to play opposite Ware.

IMO you rate all these guys but factor in a hole at SOLB because 9 million is more than enough to cover any hole on the team anywhere.

You can't fall in love with one guy in a draft class. That just never ends all but it is exactly what fans do.

I'm with you I like SPencer and wouldn't mind keeping him if the money is right
But some like to compare Ingram or others to Spencer becasue of his 40 time and weight. So I just added Spencers 3 cone drill and 20 yard shuttle just for people to compare. Ingram did better at those drills which show agility and side to side movement. More important for a LB than a 40 yard dash.

Whitney Mercilus 7.17

20 yard shuttle

Melvin Ingram 4.18
Vinny Curry at 4.40
Whitney Mercilus 4.53
Nick Perry at 4.66

I added Whitney Mercilus numbers. Do you know their 10 yard splits?

Since we're comparing stats:

Anthony Spencer
3-Cone: 7.14
20 Shuttle: 4.43

Perry is even worse than Spencer was, I think he's going to be best as a 4-3 end. Also, Ingram killed Spencer in agility drills.

Clay Matthews
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.18
3-Cone Drill: 6.90

Ingram's agility numbers compare favorably to Clay Matthews, who was about 25lbs lighter at his combine.

I totally agree with everything. Ingram can be a 3-4 SOLB liek Ihvae been saying for the last 3 months. Ingram will go before 14 now but if he falls it will be hard to pass on Ingram IMO.

Perry and Whitney looks like true 4-3 DEs to me.

Ingram has always been my guy,i just dont want to get enamored by him because there are atleast twp 3-4 teams ahead of us which really want a pass rusher.there is much higher chance of Decastro being there @ 14 than Ingram.

And I'm fine with DeCastro.

.

If we resign SPence to a good deal, sign Carr and a DL like Soliai, then I'm fine with going OL in two of our first 3 rounds.
