News: LBS: Jerry Jones makes concerning admission on radio show

This is not news, he has already said all the game plans get passed by him as they did with Garrett.

The question I had when this first came out was is this standard in the NFL, what other GM's "approve" the game plan from their HC's? Do they even ask for them?

You thought this tool was kidding about "jocks to socks", didn't you?

The level of involvement of the Joneses in the day to day, usually regarded as the HC's territory, is unknown except with Johnson and Parcells, the only two times this has actually looked like a real football team.

The first time this reared it's really ugly head was that DB we had as a FA for almost a season before he moved on to another team. He said he had never been with any team that held up the team meetings because the owner and his son were running late. Guess their priorities are suspect?

Camp Cupcake counselor, Wade Phillips, asked to increase fines for players being late to even missing meetings and was not only denied by this enabling buffoon but he issues "media passes" for the stars so they can fulfill their first requirement, priming the marketing and promotion pump. Have you ever heard of anything like this with any sports organization?

If this is a revelation to you, I hope that was warm sand you had your head in about the management of this team. This is the Cluster of the NFL and the main reason the team struggles. These aren't veterans used to working for mismanaged companies and circumventing the problems, management, these are inexperienced young men that don't know how a real team operates until they go to one.
Well done CC!!

It’s probably surprising to some who want to believe McCarthy is a hire like Bill and Jimmy. Which he meddled and interfered with them as well running them off.

I guess some fans are just so desperate to believe Jethro has changed just because he hired a known or proven HC.

Why did he sign Big Mike , if he wont let him game plan ?

Where did it say that? All it said was MM went over the gameplay with JJ. Nowhere did it say Jones had ANY input in the plan and I’m sure he didn’t.

Fans just want to believe or assume because there’s some better decisions being made and we’re having a little more success that Jethro isn’t as involved . It provides them a false hope. So when his ugly head emerges they seem surprised.

Where did you get this information that Jerry Jones has to "approve" the game plan?

I didn't see this anywhere.

I wonder how many owners ask their coaches to share the game plan with them?

That's not the correct question to ask. The question is how many General Managers talk with the coach about waht the plan is. Jerry is the GM of this team, for better or worse or even if it's in title only but he is the GM and I would bet that most if not all GM talk with the coach about the plan before the game. I bet John Elway knew exactly what Denver was going to try and do as a game plan before the game started.

That is really disturbing. I hate it. It is totally dysfunctional
You think he did the same thing in the games we’ve won
If I owned the team I’d be involved in everything too
I’d listen to the experts I hire but I’d sure want to know everything going on

Relax people....Jerry just wanted to know what time to start drinking. Someone his age has to time these things out. Not a big deal.

He said it in one of his interviews several years ago, and I have referenced that many times, and it got really quiet after he said it. He was attempting to defend Garrett's game plan by saying it passes before him each week but I think it caught them by surprise because I have never heard of that before and they hadn't either.

If he is not going to have input into it or "approve" it, why does he need to see it?

Could you guys imagine working for a world wide corporation and biggest sports franchise in the entire world and having to run things past your boss that you plan on doing. Boy...that would suck.

Nothing new here folks. Even the janitors share how they clean the ship stains off the toilets at the star with Jerry.

I sure would
That doesn’t mean he designed the game plan but I’d want to know what the plan was
How else do you judge your HC, staff and players ?
So, you would have to see every game plan the week that it is established? Do you think that is standard operating procedure in the NFL? Think AD's have to see their HC's game plan in college?

How else do you judge your HC and staff? W - L is the only thing used to judge HC and their staffs, not game plans. And the same thing is used to judge GM's......on the majority of teams.

Team loses and the game plan is going to be the HC's excuse? He was hired to develop game plans along with his staff. If a GM is going to approve that, why not just go out and coach for him,

The NFL with HC's is all about rope. Enough to swing on or swing by and I have never heard a losing coach in a postgame say "but, but we had a good game plan".

Any owner or GM wanting to know the game plan, that HC is already on thin ice.

Some miss the point. Booger is such an astute authority on the game that a HC is blessed to run the game plan by him. I am surprised all of them don't send them to him to elevate the quality of the play each week. He's stroking his ego as "Football Man".

I don’t know if it’s standard
I suspect some owners are completely absent from their team. That’s fine, it’s their team
I’m saying if it was my team I’d be involved in every aspect of my team. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t have football people I’d listen to, I’d want to know everything

I might be the same way but if I had made enough money to buy a franchise, I kinda doubt it.

Do you think Elway or Newsome had to see the game plans? Or did they put their trust in the men they hired to run their team? And they actually know how to read a game plan.

Conner, comparing us to them isn't close because I have already told all y'all that if I owned it, free beer and a cheerleader in every lap for the Zoners and that ain't like any other owner. The ladies can share Rowdy and then execute him.

I think we can look at the WFT as an example of why fans do not make good owners.
