LBs Still Stink

I focused on Murray and James a lot today. Just wanted to see why they were struggling all season. James is fast and instinctive. He just needs more experience, but you can see he is getting better each game.

Murray on the other hand is a big liability. He is slow to read and react. Usually gets blocked easily and makes the wrong decision. He is physically gifted so he does make some plays, but its almost by accident.

I don't know why Clark and Liufau aren't playing more, especially Liufau. He is aggressive and active. He is a much smarter player than Murray. Clark is a lot like Murray, but it can't hurt to give him a chance.

Murray is absolutely killing the defense. Huge running lanes were there again today because he does not fill his gap. Sanborn is a liability because he is just slow. Playing Murray and Sanborn together is a big mistake. Eberflus needs to be fire on the spot if he puts those two out together.

Yeah Murray is just what he is. Hes going to forever flash and have bad plays. He did some good things and some bad but that’s the narrative on him. He’s gonna flash his floor and his ceiling all in the same game.

The question is did he do that because Washington was so under manned or will he continue it going forward? I really hope it wasn't just taking advantage of a beat up Washington offense.

I think Washington missing their best receivers had more to do with than anything. There were times Daniels had plenty of time in pocket, nobody was open

So spot on. He has zero instincts, gets stuck to every blocked and half the time takes himself out of the play by guessing the wrong gap as it develops. The very first play of the game the TE totally washed him out and created that big whole for the 8 yard gain. He is easily the worst performing player on a poor defense. James' issue is different. The ball is snapped and he just runs full speed at either his gap or the ball. Sometimes it works well and sometimes not but he is only in like game #4 so he will learn. Overshown did that a lot last year also and we all loved the big plays it sometimes led to so I won't knock him. Both lost in that middle zone pass coverage.

Yeah, and one of those guys was Noah Brown who couldn't even crack our lineup and he's their #5 wr not top 3. Go look at their depth chart. Deebo is always injured and hasn't been a factor since 2021. So, let's not pretend they have a great WR core that was missed. They re- signed Mclauren and don't really have much else at WR.

Much better yesterday, but we still need ball hawks......lateral speed and physicality then we can get a do-over for Dowdle or those who want to buckle up. The picks from the Parson deal & draft are critical to focus on defense.

our team generally speaking doesn't have a lot of speed. it seems like we are always trailing in the plays.
