Leadership lessons from Roger Staubach

Perfect example of a leader who developed organically through life experiences combined with an innate ability, verses an individual who learned his leadership in a classroom.
 
Btw, Ty to whichever moderator fixed my issue on my post above when I mentioned a certain teams former name. I'm old-school, so it's hard to not call them that.

That man is still my hero and always will be he is an NFL God who represents everything good about sports and humanity .

He and Tom Landry made the Dallas Cowboys the iconic football team that they are America's team the legend that Jerry lives off of to this day.

Jerry Jones in the last 30 years has destroyed everything that Tom Landry and Roger built he is the polar opposite of everything they represented and everything that made the Dallas Cowboys.

My allegiance and loyalty to Roger Staubach is one of the only reasons I still follow this horrible team.

His last line says it all and he's 100% right we will never see it again

He probably wouldn't want any of those things to happen but I bet he wouldn't be heartbroken if Jerry sold the team to a true Cowboys fan that wanted nothing but to win a Super bowl.

Someone totally invested in winning that had his competitive spirit and loved the Cowboys as much as he did.

That's different and I'd agree with him
 
The NBA Logo is Jerry West. The NFL logo should be changed to Roger Staubach or Landry. The Hat logo or the outline of Roger should be the NFL Logo. I understand Vince Lombardi being the keystone of the league, but popularity of what became American football, especially when the league made the transition to the NFL from AFL, became what is was and is because of the Dallas Cowboys at the time , headed by Landry and then Staubach. Bob Lilly is Mr. Cowboy. Roger and Landry ARE the embodiment of the NFL and are what made it a viable product back in the early 70s on. Roger should have more SB wins than he does. He could have played 3 more years approximately. Imagine what he might have done in the league from 1980-83. Danny White was underrated but Roger might have beaten Montana in that chip game. Roger made me LOVE this team from the word go. I can't just give up on my team. Despite the dark cloud that's been looming over this franchise and fanbase like a curse. Hope springs eternal and Roger still breathes life into the fanbase. Something about the guy to this day is magical. We are lucky to still have Captain America among the living. Let's enjoy him while we still can.
 
Jerry has pretty much turned his back for the most part on any cowboy not of his era. He doesn't want to remind fans the team was already Americas Team before he purchased them. Bum Bright may have been an inept owner and crook, but at least he didn't try to manage the team.
 
Years ago I worked for Morgan Stanley. A very proud, old school investment bank. It mergered with Dean Witter. A knuckle dragging brokerage firm. The DW leadership was changing the culture for the worse. A contingent of semi retired but still very powerful group of former Morgan leaders went on a public crusade to throw out the Witter clowns and save the firm. It worked and Morgan Stanley was saved and thrives today.

Staubach has the personal and financial capital to pull off a similar move. Plenty of powerful Texas money would step in as well. I think this is the only hope to cure the Jones cancer.

Small problem is the Staubach is older than Jerry, although he probably treats his body a whole lot better.

I wonder his actual take on the Jones situation. The truth serum version, not the typical public comment.

Roger is a successful and dignified guy. He must think Jerry is a flaming azz clown.
