Leadership lessons from Roger Staubach

Never met Roger

Years ago I worked for Morgan Stanley. A very proud, old school investment bank. It mergered with Dean Witter. A knuckle dragging brokerage firm. The DW leadership was changing the culture for the worse. A contingent of semi retired but still very powerful group of former Morgan leaders went on a public crusade to throw out the Witter clowns and save the firm. It worked and Morgan Stanley was saved and thrives today.

Staubach has the personal and financial capital to pull off a similar move. Plenty of powerful Texas money would step in as well. I think this is the only hope to cure the Jones cancer.
Nothing could be better for the Dallas Cowboys and the NFL then Captain America buying America's team.

Once again we would be the dominant winning franchise which all others were judged.

No one has the competitive Spirit of Roger Staubach.
Jerry Jones would never be spoke of again it would be like he fell off the planet.
Talk about something that would revitalize cowboy Nation and give them hope. It would be more like a feeling of invincibility.

1979 Roger beating the Commanders on the last play. I was 9. I always loved the team since 1973, but that game was etched into my memory. You just knew we were going to find a way to win that game.
It certainly wasn't the commanders, a self-righteous team name.

Hey Jerry, Captain America and Mr. Cowboy Speaks. Open your ears and listen. And maybe a few other current Cowboys should lend an ear as well.

This is the only reason, I am still a Dallas Cowboys fan in spite of the Arlington Jonesboys. They are the real Dallas Cowboys of the late 60's, 70's, early 80's, and 90's with Jimmy Johnson. As far as the Jonesboys...This too will past.

But Staubach got it right it will never happen again not with your owner the GM, defacto Head Coach and wanting all the glory.
