League considers Overshown a top 10 LB

We know what DO can do but he has barely played.

All this list tells me is that there doesn’t seem to be many good linebackers in the league.

He’s easily the Cowboys 2nd best defender. Sucks he got hurt the way he did… He was definitely flashing some talent

Sure but this is from personnel folks around the league. Hard to call their opinion silly.
I'm not necessarily trying to knock the "experts" as being silly. I'm calling the concept of top ten lists based on opinions silly. From the article linked in the op we can see there was no real consensus on the LB rankings. I bet Jaylon Smith got some top ten votes after his first season as a starter.

"The most uneven positional group of the top 10 series, linebacker is top-heavy and void of consensus.

Three players appeared on at least 70% of the ballots -- usually that number is much higher -- yet 32 players earned at least one vote.

The top two is identical to last year, but the rest of the field is jumbled, with four first-time honorees and an aging player returning to the list after a few years out of the mix.

A dearth of top-end talent is a factor.

"Not an elite group as a whole," an AFC executive said. "A lot of the good players are aging and the up-and-comers are not special, in my opinion. Most of them can be lumped together." This leads to surprises -- and an entry point for oft-injured players whose ability is undeniable."

I agree. But still...how come Mountaineer didn't post this list?

I don't know but if forced to speculate I'd guess because there is no element of flipping the bird to his detractors like exists in the QB ranking post he made.

I'm surprised he got that much support having played so little and as a 3rd round pick.
He looked better than Parsons at LB, IMO.

Overshown is my favorite player on the team. And it isn't close.

Great guy. Great player.

I sure hope he doesn’t lose any of the speed he had last season. It was awe inspiring.

Health is a skill. I really hope he acquires it, but I'm not all that optimistic. Especially at his position: LBs get hurt, it's what they do.
