good now they need to get the college kids under control. Maybe if they have 1 arrest they cant be drafted in the first 2 rounds 2 and they cant be drafted until the 6th or later 3 and you have to go UDFA to sign with a team and if you have 4 strikes before even coming to the NFL you are ban from signing with a team for 1 year while you are put under a microscope by the NFL. If there is a rookie salary caped scaled from position drafted then this could help cut down on a lot of the BS from these kids.

College kids do face the scrutiny of the NFL for there on the field and off the field problems and it can cost many of them big money not to mention if you have multiple incidents the college itself can resend the scholarship and kick you out of school.

I hope the piece of trash is handed a karmic justice. And I hope it's a painful one.

Honestly, I can't see the stealers playing this guy and not wear a bag over their heads. He's not gonna be accepted publicly. He's a womanizer of the worst kind and lends bad judgement to the organization. If the organization is as 'astounded' as they say, they need to take a 'draw the line' stance. If that 500+ page document hits the web? Some of the stuff I heard read from it was quite frankly, unbelieveable.

I think the Anti Steelers bias (and rightfully so) here has something to do with peoples reaction in this case. I think it is troubling to have a commissioner suspend a player that hasnt been charged with a crime. I think Ben R is guilty. However, i cant agree that an accusation should result in a suspension from the league.

Now imagine this...... A competitor in the nfc east decides to take us out this year by having a women accuse romo of touching her. The police cant even charge him because the evidence isnt their. How would we feel if our QB is suspended because of a false allegation? I love women. But i have known too many guys that have even been cuffed and taken in because their women calls the cops and says he threatened her. A good buddy of mine had an argument with his girl and she called the cops to get back at him. This guy hasnt hit a women in his life. She tells the cops he pushed her and he gets taken in. Forced to spend money and time on an anger management class ect. The legal system assumes every man is guilty of every charge a women accuses him of.

The point is the league is starting something dangerous here.

Suspending a player because of an allegation isnt right. It has the potential to hurt the league as much as the personal conduct policy helps the league.
I have always wondered how the professional sports leagues have somehow found ways to write their own laws. Like suspending or fining a player for criticizing the refs. Players are denied their constitutional rights of speech by the league.

It was publically released and it's big time damning. Forced the girl in the bathroom and had bodyguards out front not letting anyone in, for one thing.

As far as the first post and an NFC competitor, there is something to be said about common sense. Not saying that the some women won't stretch the truth, etc. to get the law involved, but come on.

Whatever comes down isn't coming down because of this allegation alone. It's coming down because 6 months ago another woman accused him of the same thing. And the fact that is still in litigation.

Note that the DA said he couldn't prove "beyond a reasonable doubt," and that initially there was evidence which supported the allegation, just not enough for further testing to pursue formal charges. The woman went and got a rape kit done. No way that's happening without a reason.

Ben's a predator and an idiot with a problem.

Make you no mistake. There's more than one allegation. There's a pattern here. That's the issue................being that there are several of them.

She had to be taken to the hospital for vaginal bleeding. Also the security tapes from the night "accidentally" got taped over. And the officer questioning the witness just resigned. By the way he was posing for pictures hours earlier with Ruthlessraper. I seriously doubt him resigning was voluntary.

But you can just keep on believing it's Steeler hate that we're all like this.

It still comes down to the police saying they dont have enough evidence against him to charge him with a crime. I dont like Ben. I really hate the Steelers. But i dont like players being suspended over an allegation that wasnt even strong enough for him to be charged. We can state our "facts" against Ben. But there obviously are not enough facts to arrest him. Wait until the next player gets accused of something. He will have to be suspended as well regardless if the charge is proven or not. Lets just hope he doesnt play for the cowboys.

I could find out where a player is hanging out. Go there and tell the police he punched me. The police will find out their isnt enough evidence to convict him. But he will need to be suspended as well.

He can be suspended for casting the league in a negative light. At least that was the case with Pac Man. And Ben has definitely cast the league in a negative light. Most people think he's a rapist.

Also it is pretty obvious that it is not a baseless accusation, and that members of the police force helped Little Ben cover it up. Why else do you think that officer resigned?

If it was 1 incident the league would not suspend him. Last season he was accused not enough evidence was there and the league did nothing, now we have another one and if not mistakes claim of another that is enough for the league to show Ben his action on and off the field matter and he will either change his ways or he will not be playing football.

superonyx, by your definition OJ was innocent. Because he was not convicted therefore he was innocent and there should be no problem with him at all. Take off your lawyer glasses and look at what is known; remember just because it is LEGAL does not mean its RIGHT.

Players aren't suspended because of allegations. They can be suspended if the NFL determines that their conduct is detrimental to the league. If the police and/or the NFL's investigators determine that X, Y and Z happened, and X, Y and Z are not necessary illegal but are detrimental to the league, the player can be suspended.

Also, not enough evidence to convict someone is much different from no evidence at all. If an NFL player loses a civil case for something such as what Roethlisberger has been accused of, he almost certainly will be suspended, even if there was not enough evidence for a criminal case.
