This thread is not an appeal to fire Rob Ryan (even though I don't like him)and go get LeBeau, but someone will suggest it, so be prepared.

Sources: Dick LeBeau's contract up

1/23/2011 2:00:12 PM

Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen of ESPN report the contract of Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau expires after this season, according to league sources.

LeBeau is regarded as arguably the league's top defensive coordinator. He was instrumental in the success of former Steelers coach Bill Cowher and current Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.

If LeBeau doesn't retire or return to the Steelers, he may land in Arizona. The Cardinals boast former Steelers assistants Ken Whisenhunt and Russ Grimm and currently have an opening at defensive coordinator after firing Billy Davis.

of course he wouldve been right there at the top of the list if we knew he wasn't under contract but i dont see him leaving pitt especially for arizona

I agree, he is Pittsburg Football, they'd be fools to let him go. I it weren't for him I doubt very seriously that they would have won their last 2 SB's.

This rumor was started by KTAR Phoenix. They are on the payroll of the Cardinals. A lot of fans are PO'd because no D Coordinator has been hired and it looks like Whizenhunt is keeping himself on as offensive coordinator.

It is amazing how fast rumors turn real these days.

We have ours as well. Dez getting traded, etc...
