I do not follow the NBA any more. I didn't watch the Finals, but the LeBron choke jokes are all over. It is hard to miss them. This one, may be the best one I have seen.

My favorite part from the article is the Press Release...

In addition to the LeBron replica ring, the Chiefs are looking into whether or not the game can skip the fourth inning to honor King James who took off the fourth quarter of every finals game.

"We aren't sure if the league will allow it," said team President Rocky Vonachen. "But if LeBron doesn't need to show up for the fourth, maybe we won't either."

One lucky fan will win a replica of James' 2011 Finals MVP Award which he earned with his clutch fourth quarter play. Fans will also have the opportunity to learn how to perform the Heimlich to prevent themselves or their colleagues from choking in a big situation.

"Really this is just us getting back to the real world and waking up today and trying to solve our own personal problems," said Vice President of Ticket Sales Eric Obalil.

Priceless. Someone ought to let LeBron know.

It's a shame that the playoffs are over and he has to return to live his life. Especially since his life is literally the butt of everyone's jokes.

All they had to do was not make such a big production out of "The Decision" and he would not have had nearly the animosity toward him that he does.
It was a decesion alright. It'll take years, if ever, for people (espcially Clevelanders) to get over it.

The irony is that the Celtics stars combining in Boston was basically the same thing...but they didn't turn the knife like Lebron did with that big production and suspense.

Even worse than "The Decision" was "The Celebration" afterwords - that's what really made them a lot of enemies.

The Peoria Chiefs are piling on ....
Unrelated, but when I saw the name Chiefs and was thinking about this stunt I kept thinking about the Chiefs in the movie Slapshot.

I swear, I might order a Peoria Chiefs ball cap.

Lebron brought every last bit of this on himself. I not only have zero sympathy for him, but I think it's absolutely awesome that someone arrogant enough to think their free agency decision warrents a national TV special is getting punked by every media outlet in the western hemisphere.

Yahoo had an article about Mark Cuban spending 90k on a bottle of bubbly. I found this one in the comments below the article.

Q: Why can't Lebron give you change for a dollar?

A: Because he doesn't have a 4th quarter.

My oldest son has a Slapshot Chief's jersey from the movie.

I'm not an MLB fan, but I do enjoy going to the occasional Gnats game (single A, currently affiliated with the NY Mets).

There have been some great ones.

I have had a good laugh and I don't even particularly care what Lebron James does or doesn't accomplish in the NBA.

They're just funny.

amazing how something as stupid as the decision and the celebration debacle could end up being the best thing to happen to the NBA in years.
