I saw this posted over at ES a few weeks back... do you think that Led Zeppelin is the greatest band... yes?... no?


i know i put it in the wrong section..... sorry

i never like to say 1 band is the greatest of all time because their are different types and styles of music, same thing with comparing certain athletes as to say who was the greatest rb, wr and so forth.

But i'd have to say that the members of zeppelin had tremendous talent and not only that, they were right for each other, i mean that they complemented each other, its like everything came together perfect for them. Definitely, they were giants in the music industry.

Very true....I'm not much of a Pink Floyd fan but I love Zep.

Not a big fan of Zep. I agree, it is hard to say who is the best. I personally think AC/DC is the best ever.

Led Zeppelin (although I can't get into them as much as I used to.)

For me it is a toss up between The Beatles and Zepplin.

Both have such a dramatic range of ablities and song styles.

I didnt know you were that much of a Floyd fan. Lately my daughter is really getting in to them. I used to have all the cassettes, then lost them when everything changed over to CD's. But the other night she opened up echoes off some on line site, and now i cant stop thinking about it, got to go out and get that cd.

i think Floyd would be GREAT music therapy for certain types of patients, particularly ICU or post surgical patients, totally relaxes you but stimulates the subconscious, would probably be good for stimulating the body's natural healing response.

Also, have to give props to Hendrix. Was listening to some live jimi today, just incredible stuff !!

It's really hard to say who is the best of all time. Sure, Zepplin is there, but so are the Beatles, The Who, Lynrd Skynrd (my vote), Van Halen, The Birds and several others that have been mentioned.

I always believed that the guitarist made the band. Hard to beat Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmie Page, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Carlos Santana. Anything they were/ are involved with would put a band on top... IMO
