Lee is alone

Has anyone here actually played defense on a football team before? None of the linebackers looked lost. They looked as though they were coached to be patient and stay home because Cam Newton is the most deadly running threat at quarterback in the league. If not for his ability to take off at any moment the score would’ve been like 7-6 Cowboys win.
Now Lee missing tackles is inexcusable. But as a linebacker you have to be patient and not over commit with Cam. Overrunning him can cost you 20’yards or more. Which is exactly why Dak should be doing similar things for us. It freezes linebackers and opens up passing lanes because someone has to spy a mobile quarterback.

What ******* game were you watching???? Sean Lee was the worst LBer on the field Sunday SMH. He got absolutely trucked by a damn WR.

Can we chart Jaylon Smith? YR 1 - will never play again. YR 2 - flashes, makes some mistakes, among leaders in tackles. YR 3 - brace off, learning to move again without the brace, playing more football after not for about a year and a half, flashes elite ability at times.

Let’s wait until the middle of the season to judge this guy.

Let's bash him for playing poorly and continue to hope he improves. That's my bandwagon.

Jaylon is still bad out there. He makes no impact on the game and he still looks like he is limping at times. This is getting beyond foolish.

Lee was as bad as I've ever seen him on Sunday. I noticed at least 2 of those zone reads where he had some responsibility for the assignment and he is credited with 4 missed tackles. I am 100% not worried about it because he has earned a bad game after his career.

If this weekend was a bad day for the defense, we will have a bright spot on the season...so long as the Offense can start getting into Double Digits
Yeah, if you want me to buy the didn't play enough during camp & preseason Sean is about the one I could buy it on. He will knock off the rust & be right back to normal.

We have a major issue at LB as Jaylon once again was in space land and LV as a rook is well a rookie needs time .....Lee cannot do it ALL by himself out there and come Sunday Mr. Barkley i fear will verify my post........Jaylon looks and reminds me of the movie characters in "Predator" unfortunately he doesn't have there killer instinct......lol...

I prefer Lee, Thomas and Wilson/LVE as my starters. Smith does alright trailing, but if they run right at him...

So we can't point out legitimate issues with the defense then?
It appeared to me you were pointing out issues with the offense and blaming the defense because by giving up such a ridiculous amount of points they didn't have the offences back. But maybe that's just me.....

Like I said, you will have to read the thread before responding

I'm not into spoon feeding

We are complaining about our defense handling one of the more dynamic offenses in the league? Sheesh. Tough crowd.
The defense did a good job. But Carolina is far from a dynamic offense. They have Newton and their RB.

In terms of offense, the Panthers are in the bottom half of the league.

Dynamic offense? Lmao. This will be one of the bottom offenses we face this year. Cam is not accurate. He can run, sure but we shut down that after awhile. They have no weapons really besides Olsen and he got hurt early. McCaffery will give you some plays. That is about as basic of offense as you will face. Wait until they face an offense with real accuracy, decision making, playmakers and we will see how good this defense really is.

The whole entire game, this defense was letting 2nd and long become 3rd and very short. One of the reasons so many drives were extended and they stayed on the field longer than needed.

They played well enough to win for sure but to say this was one of the most dynamic offenses? Yeah, not even close.

Yeah Cam is not a passing threat. But, he can hit things if he has to unlike us, and he is incredibly confident. He has to be in the top 5 egos in the NFL.

But, McCaffery... that little dude has heart, and game. I like watching that kid. You get surprised by how fast he actually is at times.

But Carolina, is so far from a dynamic offense... The Giants are more of a dynamic offense then Carolina, because they can actually throw the ball with success. They should be able to run the ball as well now.
