Lee Roy Jordan passes away

RIP one of the best to ever wear the Star

Sadly he was overlooked during that time period by most of the NFL
because he had the misfortune to play in the same age as so many great players like Butkus and Lanier and Nobis and so on. It was the age of the MLB.

Well damn. That's a big loss. Another of my heroes I watched every week when I first became a Cowboys fan.

RIP Mr. Jordan. I really enjoyed watching you play. Thanks for being a part of what made The Cowboys America's Team. My team!

Quick story: On the first day of practice when Lee Roy was a freshman at Alabama, coach Bryant lined up all the players on one goal line and put 7 footballs on the other. Wanting to find out who the toughest players on the team were, he told them when I blow the whistle go bring me back a football. Lee Roy brought back 4.

RIP Mr. Jordan

RIP Mr Jordan.

Lee Roy as a LB is what you would call a “Dog” today. He was undersized but was physical and loved extracurricular activities on the field if you know what I mean.
