Legendary WR Randy Moss coaches up Cowboys slot star Cole Beasley

One of the most dangerous weapons on the Cowboys’ offense is often one of the least spoken of. Wide receiver Cole Beasley has become one of the most dangerous slot receivers in the NFL, and certainly another security blanket for four-time pro bowl quarterback Tony Romo.

The bottom line is Beasley is a walking first down marker. Not content to rest on his laurels, however, Beasley recently worked out with one of the best receivers to ever lace up a pair of cleats: Randy Moss...

Love it. When we have a quarterback capable of getting him the ball hes a fun little player to watch. Im glad to see he didnt sign his contract and forget about his game.

Step one: be a tall fast athletic freak of nature.

Lol true, but I give him credit for using the tools he has. Have you seen him windmill dunk a 10 foot rim? Hes short but goodness he can jump out of the gym.

Cowboy's slot star Cole Beasley? When did he become a slot star? So getting 536 yds and 5 tds = slot star.

Yes definitely premature, I do remember him coming on towards the end of 2014. I think 2015 was a mulligan for everyone. Once we lost Dez and Romo and the wheels began to come off we never really put it back together.

I guess it doesn't hurt to get all the help you can, but it would seem to be more beneficial for Beasley to work with someone closer to his skill set.

Other short, quick wide receivers might could tell him more about ways to use his skills to get open than a tall, fast outside receiver.

Read what was presented...Randy Moss was most talented in separation down field. That also involves technique. That also is teachable as techniques. And Beasley can elevate quite well, even if he is shorter in stature. So this could expand zones of effectiveness as well. Heck, even Jason Witten has zones downfield where he makes a difference as well.

Been saying Beasley is underrated and if targeted will generate some yards. Problem is getting enough snaps to go around.

That's what occurred to me too. The two players couldn't be more different and I think that the last guy who should be coaching anyone is Randy Moss. He lived and died with his athletic ability and if not for his issues in the mental department, could have been the greatest receiver of all time.

Not sure that he's the best resource to go to for any pointers.

That's how I always looked at him. Though Belichick later came out and said Moss was one of the smartest players he'd ever been around. I thought that was pretty interesting.
