He showed a lot of promise against a bunch of guys that will have jobs serving you fries and a coke on roller skates in the next few weeks.

Gee I don't know maybe it's cause he actually has made plays. All Tapper does is run around the end and do nothing

He beat up on 5th stringers. Let's not get carried away here.

In the end, when the DE position is stabilized a guy like Tapper or Jones will be vying for maybe the 3rd string at that position. I'll take Tapper's potential there over Lenny Jones.

I will admit, this time of the year always is entertaining to me. It's when people start going ga ga over roster fodder because of their play against future cuts.

I haven't seen any Lenny Jones threads, which surprises me. Jones, #56, was constantly in the Rams backfield during the second half. He's 6-3, 270, but looks much leaner, with a LB build. He showed several different rush moves, including rip, swim, club, & dip moves. He was constantly using the OT's momentum against himself. If Jones rushed wide, & saw his man bite, he would give him a club with his inside hand, followed by a swim with his outside hand & rush inside. When his guy wouldn't bite on that, he would fake inside & spin outside to get pressure in the backfield. A guy like that could prove invaluable with all of the suspensions on the D-line at the beginning the season. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on him this next game. Hopefully they play him against the ones or twos, to see what he can do vs better competition. God knows we can use all the help we can get at the DE position.
It's funny you mention it because I noticed him too. I meant to include a tidbit about him in my latest contribution, but honestly forgot. He is the brother of MMA fighter Jon Jones.

He was an busy man against the Rams, but as has been pointed out, those were low-grade last-stringers for the Rams. He didn't pan out for his other teams. There is some hope however, LeRoi Glover was cut by the raiders and wound up becoming an all-pro. David Irving was on KC practice squad. Sometimes all a player needs is a REAL chance in a REAL game. I just don't see the numbers allowing him to make the 53.

You're confusing him with Chandler Jones, formerly of the Patriots, currently with the Cardinals and Arthur Jones, formerly of the Ravens and Colts. Those Jones' were born in Rochester, NY. Lenny Jones is from California.

Oops. I got my Jones confused. I recently started to take a closer look at him and could have sworn he was one of those brothers as I was researching him online. Oh well...
