Leon Spinks Dead At 67

I remember watching the Spinks brothers in the Olympics and was a huge fan. When Leon beat Ali I was in shock.

Sad to hear of him passing at only 67.

Too bad Leon unlike his brother Michael was taken advantage where he ended up broke. I think even Larry Holmes gave him a job as a Host at one of his Steak Houses. I worked for a prominent commercial Bus company and older bus drivers said in the 80s in St. Louis Leon would panhandle for money at the Bus Station .

Very sad.

i had heard awhile back that his health was failing.

He wasn't one of the great 70's age of heavy weight boxers like Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Ernie Shaver and Jimmy Young
but more remembered for the lone upset over Muhammed Ali.,.being the older brother of Michael Spinks ..and that gap smile.
