Not many people know how good he actually was.

At the end he had no lateral quickness and it was just DL after DL shooting gaps and him flailing away. Was frustrating watching it on the goalline. You don't get much more close quarters than that.

Pulling was an adventure. I don't know why but the bottom fell out on him. Colombo and Davis were FUN!

Wow I thought he was out of the league?! Good for him though getting signed by the 9ers.

I don't think many people realize how bad he actually was because people mostly evaluate offensive linemen based on name recognition. I'll never forget the time the coaches had to pull him from the game after about 5 "Ole" blocks on Jason Jones. Very rarely do you see a defensive tackle just stand up loop around an offensive guard completely untouched.

I thought he would have been signed a while ago. Happy for him. I always liked him!

Trust me...he was very average and extremely overpaid. Jerry had visions of Davis taking over for Flozell once Flo retired/was cut....which is why he received at the time the largest signing bonus in the history of the franchise....but you are seriously overstating if you thing he was very good

Davis must be good now: He's been signed by an organization with real football management. Twice!

I really doubt that Jerruh was that stupid. Bigg was mediocre at best at LT with the Cards - I think it was more likely he thought Bigg couldmove to RT to replace Colombo.

Larry Allen, now Big. I guess San Francisco is the Elephant's Graveyard where big old Cowboys linemen go to die.

I am pretty sure he intimated that around the time of his signing. Actually I think he flat out said it.
