Any team that traded for him would be on the hook for ~$4.1M this season. Since he’s been cut, the team that signs him can sign him to a new contract. Given his history, it’ll likely be less than what he’s owed this year.

Yes, that's true. The cap would make it tough for us. Still, if we could get a 1 year deal out of him, that'd be sweet! Get him to play for a year and then take the comp pick.
