This might be completely common knowledge, but Les Miles was on the NFL network at the Senior Bowl and he said, "I'm glad to be here as a college head coach, and assisting the Dallas Cowboys".

I thought that was interesting. I did a search on the forums and didn't find any mentions of it.

No, he said he was here before, as an Assistant for Dallas Cowboys. He was TE coach under Campo.

Does this mean Doucet's a Cowboy if he's still on the board?

Not my first choice, but I'd be able to live w/ it.

It wasn't Campo, he was on Gailey's staff in the late 90s. LaFleur had his 2 best seasons under him.

If he's not at the senior bowl, he'll be at the combine. Book it.

because of the inconsistency of Bowman.......not only is he built like TO, but he has hands like TO......

I am leaning towards Donnie Avery. This kid has hands and can flat out fly. He would definitely make a nice compliment to TO, Crayton and Witten.

I believe the tradition of drafting a LSU player will continue... I do like the CB that had the INT against Ohio St.

I was about to correct that too, but I'm not surprised you beat me to it. :)

I thought for the past couple of years that if Jerry ever decided to go to the college ranks for a head coach, he would call Miles. I don't see that happening now, but all you have to do is look at Miles' website to know that Jerry holds him in very high regard.

I like Avery but I was more impressed with the kid from App State. He looks like a quicker version of Avery. Avery has the top end speed.

Same here, Chief. In fact, before Jerry hired Parcells, I thought Miles would be one of the frontrunners for the job.

He sure would have made 4th downs interesting, at least.:

But I don't see how it could be anything but good that Miles is giving Jerry some info. LSU has a lot of talent, and it could be helpful to know the inside story on the character and work ethic of some of these guys. (Miles might even have had a year with Bowman at OSU -- not sure without checking.)

You did. I saw the clip. He said nothing about being there to assist the Cowboys. He just mentioned he had attended the Sr. Bowl in the past when he was an assistant coach with the Dallas Cowboys.
