LESS likely to draft LT in RD1 w/ Flo's release

To everyone that thinks that we are going with an LT like Campbell, C Brown, or Saffold in the first round, it is more unlikely with Flo's release. Flo's release means that the braintrust is committed to Free at LT, NOT at RT. So there is little reason to draft an LT in the first round. We are far more likely to draft a big G who can replace Kosier THIS year, or step in at LG for Bigg if he must move to LT if Free gets hurt. So Iupati, Pouncey, or maybe Ducasse (who can swing between G and T) are far more likely. Or the top S.

It all depends on who falls, and somebody will for sure. For the record there is no depth at OT and Columbo is on the down side, so OT is just as likely as DB, G, or C.

Columbo played as to his usual level before his injury, so unless you mean the downside of his contract, I disagree.

If you liked Columbo in the past, he has not fallen off that level of play when healthy.

I do agree that we lack depth, our only quality backup is now in line to be a starter. Brewster is a big question mark and every other lineman on the roster is not capable of producing much.

Saffold plays both G/T, that could save us a pick...

I think we'll look to a guy like Ducasse or Veldheer in round 2 that can play both. I think we're taking McCourty in round 1 - DB depth and KR/PR.

If he's there...If KW goes in the teens a team like Baltimore could select Mccourtey.

don't forget the are high on Brewster - to be the RT & RG

I read somewhere they really like Travis Bright too.

He might move up from the PS and replace Holland.

Brewster has not even done a NFL practice session yet so there is no way anyone can really count on him to be anything this year at least. It would be incredibly stupid to count on him this year. Bigg was a mediocre LT; and is older now, so only as an emergency one game deal would he be used. We got to have another young tackle that can be developed quickly; and we need to get a G/C that can replace the proctologist.

Bigg was a pro bowl alternate at LT multiple times. He just never was the dominant guy that was invisioned when the Cards drafted him.

One must remember that those years Bigg was an alternate there were only a few top LTs in the NFC; and he only got to be an alternate when they were injured. At his best he might have been a top10 LT in the NFL; but he is older now and less mobile. Frankly he would probably be at best 15th in the NFL now.
