Lest known Cowboy

I would hope most of us know his name. I'm not sure many of us would recognize him in a crowd, though. ... Maybe now that we've seen this picture.

But honestly how many LS aren't good? LS is one of those positions if u don't hear anything it's good, and ya never hear about any of them.

I've never understood this position or why the Center cant be expected to learn how to long snap. Cant be that much of a difference between the shotgun snap and the long snap. Instead you have to to use a roster spot and cap money. I'm missing something...

I used to like LP, but then I realized how much he looks like Brandon Weeden and I hate Weeden's stupid face #Weedenhasastupidface

Not as easy as it looks, it is not like a shotgun snap. The ball has to have good zip on it and be accurate be it for the punter or the low snap to the holder on a FG. As others mention when Hellestrae retired Dallas went through a season where bad snaps cost us.

the perfect career for a guy who cannot kick. Maybe 10 plays a game and hardly get hit. But it clearly is a rare skill; LP has not had a bad snap in over 10 years.

Hats off to LP Ladouceur -- I've mentioned his full name, lest some of us might have forgotten one with such scant recognition. ;)

Anyhow, he's done a yeoman's job at long snapping for the last 12 years and shows no sign at all of letting up. He's a blessing.

To me, ideally Frederick or one of the other linemen could do it and save us a roster spot. I long snapped and played C in highschool. I know its a tough task but its not one that cant be learned with a lot of hours and practice.

you have to be right cause every team does it but...if I was getting 8-10 million a season as a center and was expected to be able to long snap I'd spend 10 hours a day if needed to perfect it.
I actually played center for 1 year way back as a little kid and yes it was different (you're looking down between your legs instead of straight ahead) and have to zip it like you say but like riding a bike when u got it down it wasnt that hard. Then again I wasnt doing in the NFL

An overlooked part of the Long Snapper is that he has to be part of the Punt Coverage team. Dale Hellestrae could have snapped the ball accurately for many more years, but he was struggling to run down the field to cover Punts.
