The cowboys should have let keith brooking go before the start of the preseason and let the younger mlb's have a chance. I think Sean Lee is a great player, i think he showed that to everyone who watched the game against the colts last season. Let me know what you think.

He isn't here because he can do all he could in years past physically- he is here because he is smart, gives a full effort, and is helping to groom those young guys and help to reinforce the habits it takes to last as long as he has in the league... before they get to replace him altogether.

That is great that he is a team leader... but the problem is he is a liability on the field. I don't want a guy who is going to repeatedly get beat on plays and cost us points. You want to keep him there? Fine.. pay him the league minimum and don't ever play him... just have him groom the young guys.

Football instincts as good as I have seen in a long time.

This is something else I'm tired of hearing. He has great football instincts and is a smart guy... well, that's nice, but at the end of the day he is slow and gets beat a lot. So what good is his football instincts and smarts? We need someone who is athletically gifted, fast, and rarely misses tackles. Sorry, but that isn't what we have. I have to hope Carter fits the bill because Sean and Keith don't.

Who are these "young mlbs" you are talking about? Sean Lee needs to demonstrate he does not pull a quad on special teams every other week before he's considered reliable. Beyond him, there is nothing else.

Our selection of an injured and inexperienced inside linebacker in the second round made the decision to keep Brooking a foregone conclusion.

I agree! Let's cut him so we only have 2 ILB's on the roster.... Oh wait nevermind that would be stupid.

Don't rush Sean Lee in, Keith Brooking is nothing but good news for Lee's career at this point, he's only going to help him out and make him better. Plus Brooking's got so many intangibles still and isn't the liability a lot of ya'll make him out to be.

I think Sean Lee hasn't done enough to knock Brooking off the roster.

That's the key. You don't can a guy simply because he is aging. You still have to guage who you have to step in and take is spot, and Lee just hasn't stepped up enough to make Brooking expendable.

If they could have adressed this before the preseason, I would have been on board with it. But they have only 3 ILBs right now--which is crazy.

This... I see no reason whatsoever to cut him. Who would we keep on the roster instead?
