Jones been a scrub for a while. After his freshman year he hasn't done squat.

Are you his kin? As always, it was a tongue in cheek remark from me but also par for the course when it comes to his play as a FS....always inches short or half second late.
 
Is he left handed.

It looked like he would have had an easier shot at hitting the ball with his right hand but instead bent his body over to try and hit it with his left hand that was further away. It looked weird.
 
Josh Doctson - 41 inch vertical, 6’4

Byron Jones - 44 inch vertical, 6’1

Pretty even matchup. Perfectly thrown ball by Kirk. Doctson is amazing at jump balls and Jones was at an angle.

Not many safeties make that play

Cover 2 is not the problem. The problem is that Cover 2 actually requires players who can actually make plays. The cover 2 personnel obviously CAN'T...Mr. Byron Jones and Mr. Jeff Heath....

OK, I'll buy that but why does that always seem to happen to Jones? QB makes a perfect throw? Is it REALLY that or is Jones just beat like a cheap drum by a 2 year old on Christmas day?

Oh he gets beat a bunch. More than he should. But he is best in man coverage. When they put him in zone and make him read he is awful.

I think he has a future on the roster in the slot

Then yes playing cover 2 is a problem. If you don't have the people to play it, the it's dumb to keep playing it and getting burned in it.

Until we see it consistently we just don't know. Right now what he does, is bad.... problem is, not sure the Coaching staff can put him in a better position like you think. That's an even bigger issue!
