Jerry Jones said there was going to be a lot of turnover this offseason.

Churn, churn, churn.

Okay, whos getting the axe?

Of the starters that I think are definitely gone:
  • Colombo (cause he sucks)
  • Ball (cause he sucks)
  • Brooking (too old)
  • Barber (money and not the same player he was)
  • Roy Williams (money and inconsistent)

Starters possibly gone
  • BIGG (money)
  • Newman (money)

The biggest issue I see is replacing these guys. You only have so many draft picks. Free agents can be expensive if you try to pick up someone with proven talent. Cutting guys for money will end up being the harder ones to cut, unless they just suck.

  • Colombo (cause he sucks) - Replace with Young/Draft Pick
  • Ball (cause he sucks) - Draft Pick - Safety Drop him to 4th corner
  • Brooking (too old) - Replaced with LEE -
  • Barber (money and not the same player he was) - Felix Jones/FA Backup
  • Roy Williams (money and inconsistent) Austin/Dez/Hurd/Holly/Johnson
Starters possibly gone
  • BIGG (money) - Money is only an issue if the player is not performing.... which he is not performing replace with Mankins :)
  • Newman (money) - You keep Newman and bring in a draft pick to compete with Jenkins/Newman "Hopefully" Prince/Peterson

Then Fill in the D-line and Oline through the rest of the draft for depth :)

I think ball stays...if he does hopefully it is just as depth.

I think Newman and Ball stay. Everyone else is gone.

I still don't think Roy is definitely gone unless we're planning on bringing in a replacement.

I'm not saying a trade.. Because Santana is a free agent.. But If we cant have both who would u chose at this stage of their careers.. I always loved Moss's game and he hasnt slowed down..

I'd love to have Moss as our 3rd receiver.

Olshansky, Roy W, Columbo, Barber and probably Bigg must go.

I think another corner needs to be brought in through the draft to potentially replace Newman. Ball needs to go back to corner, but he should be retained or made a backup safety.

I feel sorry for Colombo if he's gone. All his problems are injury related and prior to that he was a good player. I know he's always the first one in a scuffle defending his fellow players.

I think Roy stays...only because of his 5+ mil cap weight. Ship Columbo, probably Davis, too. Barber is done here too. Brooking a no-brainer to leave. It'll be interesting to watch the slaughter.

Which is why I hope he'll just realize that and retire. Same with Brooking.

Cowboys should bring back Ken Hamlin for a workout.

Didn't I just read that Roy costs 5 mil next season to be on the team, but cost over 12 mil if they cut him? If that's true, I'd keep him and use that extra 7 mil to sign a player or two.

Ball was horrible, maybe they keep him as a CB, but he is a terrible safey.

Newman is scheduled to make $8M next year. His $22.5M guaranteed was pretty much paid off this season. (12M signing bonus, $1 last year, and $9M this year)

He still has some game, but I'm not sure you pay $8M for inconsistent play. Newman is basically what Roy Williams was on offense this year. He made plays, but was very inconsistent. Roy is scheduled to make $5M. Thats three million less than Newman and you think Roy is gone and Newman isn't? The only thing that I think could save Newman from not getting cut due to money is not finding enough talent to all the CB roster spots.

I don't understand the push to cut him. He is playing out of position. So why can't we move him where he needs to be and save a draft pick/signing another free agent to take his roster spot?

I think he will. Brad said during the game that it's a struggle for him physically to play.

I think that Ball and Williams call Dallas home for another year.

I think one or the other is gone but not both, most likely Bigg will depart. Another player that may fit into this category is Kosier.

It would be nice if you could replace the majority of these players all at once, but I just don't believe that is all that realistic.

Turnover doesn't have to mean being cut. Guys like Ball and Newman will stick around but not in a starting role.

Now, people like Barber and Brooking will likely be let go. Jones and Choice can carry the load and Brooking is regressing and Sean Lee is the future.

I would love to see OL turnover, but we currently don't have anyone in place better than Columbo or Bigg. Perhaps that will be solved in FA or the draft, but we need those resources first.

Show Barron, Bigg, Colombo, Brooking, Olshansky, Barber, Roy the door.

I also wouldn't mind Jenkins being cut for revenge purposes

There are plenty of poor performers on this team, from the GM to many on the coaching staff down to the players. Jerry has said change is coming before, mostly with mixed results so we will see.

I don't want any players cut out of spite or anger by Jerry's bruised ego. Demotions in many cases, trades if possible, cuts if necessary.
