Let there be shift!

That shift was pretty cool to see. Brought back a lot a great memories. Not sure whose idea it was, but it was a good one. Great way to honor a legend.

I wonder if we got the okay from the league to do it since technically it is an illegal shift?

This whole shift thing is fun for me to see for nostalgic reasons (see my avatar).
But even more exciting to me is that it says to me that these players are proud to be Cowboys.

Yep, so cool to see a tribute like that.

IIRC, as long as the lineman stay in their final stance for at least one second, it's not illegal. It's only illegal if the ball is snapped during the shift.

This is correct. We technically can bring it back without penalty.

2 points from the NFL rules of Position of players at the snap:

No interior lineman may move abruptly after taking or simulating a three-point stance

After a shift or huddle all players on offensive team must come to an absolute stop for at least one second with no movement of hands, feet, head, or swaying of body

This kind of thing happens....when....you know...you seek out RKGs.

And not just pay it lip service.

This OLine is doing a Tribute to the 70's Landry teams with the shift......while giving the 90's OLine a tribute also with the smashmouth foofball they are bringing to the run game............a double tribute

Why would it be illegal? Landry's Cowboys ran it for years. It wasn't illegal then and they haven't changed the rules.
