No. That was next year.So epic at the time. Was that the game Jimmy guaranteed the win.

Yeah, they actually did have the lead 7-3 early in the first quarter. The 49ers had a 7-3 lead for a time. Cowboys got off to a shaky start. The 49ers had the ball twice with that lead. Leading to a missed FG and a Ricky Waters fumble. That's your momentum swing right there. Up until that point, all the momentum was still on the 49ers side.
Ultimately, the 49ers lost that game by committing critical penalties, butter fingers, and interceptions. All of which Dallas didn't do. But yeah, that 70 yard TD called back was big. But the guy was being held.
Yup in three inch headlines. Jimmy had ballsNo. That was next year.
Greatest part about that 90’s dynasty — was like collecting receipts on Cowboys history. Revenge on 49ers for The Catch, revenge on Steelers for 70’s losses, revenge on Packers (total dominance) for Ice Bowl… and so on…. Everything that went wrong in the past, now went right for the team. Must be why we’ve been so unlucky the last 20 years. Had to balance itself again. That Aikman to Harper crossing pattern broke the 49ers back. That's my favorite play in NFL history. It took 11 years to get revenge for our loss in the '81 NFC Championship. That game kicked my guts out. Then I lived in Northern California in the 80s when the 49ers nauseatingly ascended and the Cowboys declined. Beating the 49ers in the NFC Championship that year meant everything to me. And it doesn't bother me that the 9ers got one over on us in '94. That was their sole Super Bowl in the 90s, but the Cowboys got 3.
Ya, that team, well you just KNEW. It gave you a feeling of confidence. That Dallas team was near perfect. Young, talented, very physical, supremely coached, and just coming into its own. That OL was one for the ages. They just beat the hell out of that SF team.
Also there's a major difference between Dak turning 30 vs Aikman entering his prime. That Dallas team was near perfect. Young, talented, very physical, supremely coached, and just coming into its own. That OL was one for the ages. They just beat the hell out of that SF team.
I was 13 as well back then. I was the only Cowboys fan in my 7th grade class and there were a couple of 49ers fans. You better believe I talked a whole bunch of trash to them that year and the next.Man it was so cool when we were the "young upstart". I was 13 back then and it was the greatest time to be a Cowboys Fan. You looked up to those guys, they truly were your idols. Right before girls started crawling into your head it was a time of doing cool stuff with your buddies, sports, sneaking into adult films in cinemas and driving your parents nuts. It was a time of total freedom, at least that's what it felt like. And on monday morning my two football buddies and me talked nothing but Sunday's games.
Sigh... I love my current life but I sometimes miss those days.
Go Cowboys! Revive the cool kids days.
Thanks @GimmeTheBall! for taking me back for a moment.
