Let's beat a dead horse

The fact is, we are getting closer to winning the Superbowl with ever day that passes.

The several back up drafts( 93,94,95,96) during our 3 of 4 year run ontop. The fact we should have taken Derrick Brooks and Warrick Dunn instead of trading down twice with Tampa when we needed to get someone to get more carries from Emmitt amd phase him out and we needed a linebacker.

The back up draft pf 2009 and the nonchalant attitude and poor talent evalution following the 2006,2007 seasons.

No winning organization comes out and says we are having a back up draft. How much better are we if we actually take Brooks, Dunn, Moss in the mid-90s? Or not have wasted picks for blatant back ups from all over the offense and defense.

That's what has killed this team along with the neglect of the defense tackle and safety position . It is the back up drafts, Dt and safety neglect.

Lets beat a dead horse. No. I'm not talking about Dez (although that is a really fun horse to beat). I'm talking we haven't been to the Super Bowl since 1995.

I'm actually going to "put that horse down" as I believe this year is a year we could threaten to get there and win it. If so people will be talking dynasty with this young team.

I think we have a good chance. What say you?

If we did it, Garrett would be the first coach in NFL history to win a SB that didn’t at least coach in a conference title game in his first five years on the job.

We have the same chance as any other middle of the pack team. Not very good.
lol.. this fits your screen name perfectly. I agree with you as well. We haven't sucked for 22 straight years for nothing. JG doesn't even have the ability to lead this team as a coach deep into the playoffs much less a super bowl. The players would have to somehow fade the coaching staff and culture here in order do to that. Big time long shot sadly.

Until we have the best defense in the league, I will say NO WAY! At present I would be very happy to make it to the NFC Championship game!!!

I love your optimism. I think in this day and age of parity in the NFL any year a team can erupt out of nowhere and win it. So I believe there's always a chance. With that being said I will state my realistic reasons why this could happen. Well realistic to me, others may disagree. But here we go
1. It's possible Dak returns to his rookie form.
2. Healthy and non suspended Zeke for 16 games.
3. Defense has improved, LVE, Lee, and Smith could be a force at LBer if all stay healthy and reach potential. Dlaw is a beast, Taco might improve and young secondary has a year under their belt.
4. Drafted a stud offensive lineman to solidify the offensive line. Which will help #1 and #2.
5. We had a solid draft in other picks with Gallup and others.
6. Tavon Austin can provide some flexibility to the offense.

Things I can realistically say can hurt us is.
1. Jason Garrett
2. Jason Garrett
3. Losing Witten and Dez in the same offseason is horrible. No matter what it'll leave a whole in production and leadership.
4. The safety position.

So in summary, with a solidified offensive line, Dak returning to rookie form, 16 games with Zeke and improved defense can overcome the loss of Dez and Witten and we have a better than average chance to win it all.

Unless, the levels of yer tribes starvation levels dictates the tenderization of consumables during rapid transit of retreat, you really ought'ta tamp that pipe of which you suck on & put it down in a heel stomped flushing of that packed pipe bowl fashion like flushing the toilet in yer' psychosis of paranoia,,,,

I think the offense and defense will both take a step in the right direction this year because of a good draft. I think Dez leaving will ultimately prove to be a plus. Kris Richard working with the passing game and the D backs is yet another good move.
Barring injuries the entire team should be better this year, but not championship better.
Playoff better? Welllll, maybe. I don't think this defense is ready for the big time.

Dont see a chance at the sb this season. But I think dallas will have a winning record with a rough schedule and a lot of questions ahead.

You Need great Coaching to reach a SB. We dont have that

We're seeing some good things happening in terms of the vet free agency and the draft as well. I'll say it's encouraging but not to the point of prematurely declaring the Cowboys a SB contender until the season is well underway. Only then is it reasonably possible for practical predictions of glory to be made.
