Let's get ready to rumble!!!

Wade Phillips doesn't want a lot of fisticuffs when the Broncos visit Valley Ranch the next couple days.

"We don't get anything out of it if it's all fighting," he said.

Neverthless, you can count on at least three or four scraps breaking out. You put 170 players in scorching heat and have them go through four practices in two days, and tempers are bound to flare.

If I were a betting man, I'd put a nickel on a Cowboys D-linemen starting the first fight. The Broncos' cut-blocking technique tends to anger opponents. Plus, Chris Canty and Jay Ratliff participate in more than their fair share of practice brawls.

I asked Jason Ferguson, the D-line's resident wise old man, which one of his linemates would get in the first fight.

"I'm not going to name names," Ferguson said, turning to his right and staring at Ratliff.

I would hope that our coaches have cleared the fact that there should be no cut blocks in practice. If they cut block someone and he gets injured, I'll blame our coaches for allowing it. That would be plain stupid to agree to practice with a cut blocking team and allow they to use that technique in said practice.

Kinda agree but then you know in the football game that's exactly what the Broncos will do. Frankly, I don't like our agreeing to practice against the Broncos. Surely there were other teams who are good but don't use that blocking as part of their scheme. I think it should be outlawed. Frankly I wouldn't be against many other teams in the NFL demonstrating to the Broncos exactly why their system is dangerous to everyone--including the Broncos themselves.

Ferguson makes me laugh...lol

For that matter, you can mark me down as someone who love Ratliff's fire too.

Why do refs not call cutblocking more? Isn't it obvious on most plays if a cutblock is successful that it would be pretty visible?

Jay Ratliff just went up on my respect meter.
