Let's pretend we are betting money on this game. You have teh Lions who come in relatively healthy with two productive RBs, WRs with speed, a premier pass rusher, stout DTs, and a QB that can be very effective if given time. Then you have the Cowboys with no real RB, One good WR, their top 4 DEs out with injury, and all-pro CB who led the league in INTs last year out with injury, their leading tackler and most experienced LB out with injury, and two offensive tackles who have struggled protecting the passer.

Are you betting your hard earned money on Dallas or Detroit?

The smart money is on Detroit to win this game. It will be a moral victory if Dallas can even keep it close.

Quit following if all you do is complain and talk insult. That doesn't take insight beyond disapproval.

The bigger problem for the Lions right now is that their pass rush outside of Aidan Hutchinson has been nonexistent. The Detroit native, picked second overall in 2022, leads the league in pressures and sacks by a comfortable margin and has been generally unblockable. Usually that means good things for the defense as a whole, but the Lions rank 24th in sack rate and 28th in pressure rate. Hutchinson has as many pressures to his name as the next five defenders on his team combined.

It’s not a bad thing to have one dominant pass rusher, but this is more than that. Detroit simply isn’t getting results from anyone outside of Hutchinson on a consistent basis, and their secondary is suffering as a result. The Lions have managed to do well against the run - fourth in fewest rushing yards per game - but they’ve also seen the third-fewest runs of any defense. Much of that is because opposing offenses know they can devote all their energy to slowing down Hutchinson while the quarterback picks the secondary apart.

Only the Bengals offensive line is giving up a lower pressure rate than Dallas, and that’s after facing the likes of Myles Garrett, Cameron Jordan, Brian Burns, and T.J. Watt. Unless Hutchinson has one of the best games of his career, the Cowboys should be able to give Dak Prescott plenty of time to find the open receiver in this game. And based on how hot he’s been in the last two games, that could lead to yet another bad day at the office for Glenn and his pass defense.

Hutchinson wins with a quick first step and a lot of power. Stop him and both the Dallas run game and passing games improve. Cut out penalties and Prescott using all remaining receivers without sticking to just constant gambling and a home advantage arrives for the Cowboys.
Let’s get serious and just admit that we’re about to get blown out to smithereens

If coward is your way, that's yours...I don't first cry when I see the Cowboys challenged.

Dallas keeps the Lions under 20 points even reduced in starters.

Dallas scores 27 points, itself. No Dallas turn-overs this game.
Doubt this mash unit D can do enough to slow Detroit's running game, and they will have their way vs our D.

Hope I am so wrong, but would be tough enough with all hands-on deck, with the hits this defense has taken I just can't fathom the notion of Detroit and Ben Johnson not having a solid ground game plan vs Cowboys D.

Going to get pounded today vs a team that doesn't only believe in the running game but understands how to actually utilize it.

Dallas can step up. If their running game is under 100, Dallas forges a win. I disagree with your instinct here.

 :muttley:That is without doubt the very worse defeat I have watched the Dallas earn every bit of the loss. Right now, 7 wins max? Only 5 turn overs...
And yet you fell for the annual okie dokie from Jerry. I swear some of you all will never see the light.

I'd say my insight was pretty accurate, no?
I can't argue against now from the start. I was first trying to be supportive. Before this season I put the Head Coach fully in my sights. Make or break year. He is still fullly being measured to be keot. Getting players back better be critical as to performance now.

It still boils down to blocking and tackling. Not doubt. Season will fill out the real picture. I'll just let it play out and see where this team ends up.

As to no more than now....pound your chest as a critique. Yesterday was dire, but the season isn't yet over. I'm not crying, myself.

I dont believe you ever need to apologize for fandom, ever but just saying this beat down was obvious well before the game ever started.

All you guys forget that they have a damn good return man and kicker... :muttley:

It goes beyond just having a single game. I walk my fandom as a fan first. This is a 3-3 team and as poor a showing as this was, it still isn't an indicator of real team content. They still are talented and I respect players showing up and putting all on the line and still play football.

I haven't lived my life for insult. I don't respect that and don't bend a knee when it leaves out of the picture a sportsmanship in sport and fully embraces insult.:hammer: I measure on the level of what can still be done. I won't apologize a minute. I'll walk as a fan.

BAD GAME

Yes, CC and I would expect most are here because we are always Cowboys Fans, win lose or draw.
I view this forum as a ventilation mechanism and always hope for the best but now I find myself enjoying other games in the NFL more than watching my boys getting totally blown out, but I still watch every game from start to finish.
