Braylon Edwards cost them that game. Missed the blitz read and dropped a pass at the 12,

Not our day

*shrugs* It's sad how we're now relying on other teams to make plays against our divisional rivals...but, en yet, none of our players are taking care of their own business.

Its their defense that won that game. Their offense has been pretty pedestrian for two weeks now but the difference is they can lean on their defense.

When Dallas is forced to lean on their defense they give up 34 points to a team that had only been in the redzone 5 times all year.

throughout the course of the game when they really need to.

Why can't WE ever do so?

Because they have passion and desire and realize wins are earned.

Their D came up big in a few occasions, but they still almost blew that game. If Anderson had put that last pass to Edwards on target, they'd have had 30 seconds on the clock and the ball on the Commanders 13 yards line...if not closer. Coulda, shoulda, woulda though.

Skins not quite there yet on offense. They have a trend of statistically dominating, yet not scoring nearly enough points. Last week, 380ish total yards vs. 200 for the rams. This week, 358 vs. 230 for the browns. They are moving the ball; just not scoring enough points. They need more consistency.

Their defense, however, has been superb this season. They really play with passion, and do a great job of using their skill players well, as well as getting lesser known players to step up. I love their fire and desire.

When/if they ever really get rolling on offense, look out.

But, 5-2 is 5-2. I'm not complaining. As we've seen the past few weeks, anybody can beat anybody any given sunday. All I care about is a win.

Or if Portis doesn't fumble, the final score would have been 14-3(or 21-3 if they end up scoring a late meaningless TD).

I was in particular talking about the Browns' possession before that. The Skins goalline D held them to zero. Our D wouldn't even come close to doing anything like that.

same here, I don't care how much better we are than so and so, I just want us to pull out wins at this point

Coming from a Commanders fan, I would trade my entire d-line for D.Ware.

"Grass is always greener from the other side".

Congrats on Ware getting another NFL record.

How many sacks does he have for this season? total?

And here we thought our biggest problem would be the big GU patches on the jerseys.

That was the stand I was referring to as well. They held them very nicely on that Browns possession.

...but that Portis fumble was caused by a Brown, and the rest of the game was all Cleveland. The Commanders did nothing to stop them whatsoever after that goalline stand. They looked like we have on many similar occasions ....and I assure you this forum would be skewering that defense if we had done the same thing. They 'escaped' that game.

As of right now he officially has 9. He should have 10.5.

He's going to annihilate the record for most in a season.

I'm not going to lie, He is my one of my favorite players that isn't on the skins.

As long as he gets 0 sacks against us, its alright.

Skins D gave up only 238 yards. Most of that coming on the last 2 posessions. They were tired, i'm sure. But came up big when it mattered. Then bent, but didnt break, forcing the long FG attempt. A 54 yard attempt is by no means a gimme. They won because of the dominace of their defense through 3.5 quarters. It is what it is. Its just comforting to know we can win on the backs of our D, when the O has an off game.

Right now other than Ware, Newman, and Ratliff i'd trade the rest of the Dallas defense (Minus our two rookie corners, cause they're rookies) for the Commanders defense in a heartbeat.

They at least know how to play as a unit. If you gave them a pass rusher like Ware it would be SICK.

If we had lost this game, there's no way I would have pinned it on the defense. They were fantastic today as they have been all season. This is a top 5 defense that would be completely dominant if they could force a couple more turnovers per game. Unfortunately, we don't have the pass rush to do that consistently.

As another poster said, our offense has been pedestrian the last two games. The running game looks good, but we haven't been able to keep defenses off-balance with the passing game. I love that JC still hasn't thrown an interception, but we are going to need more from him and our receivers to be any real threat. Additionally, we continue to commit too many penalties on offense that kill drives.

Too many drive stalling penalties, or 1 bad play to stall out good drives

Our D was dominant. Played great the entire game and won it for us in the end

Much tougher then it should have been, but glad to get the win

It seems like Zorn has been getting a little bit too conservative in the last couple games. I was surprised we ran it on the last play we had on offense. And we had a draw on 3rd and 12. He go for the throat like he seemed to do before.

I think its 2 fold (and I have been talking about this on ES)

1) The running game is just great right now. CP is NFL MVP at this point

2) The WCO is a complex passing attack, and the offense still doesn't have a grasp of it. Remember, it is only game 7 in it

Sure there were plays made against Dallas and Philly, but other teams will adjust to what we are doing. Our O is still not at the point where it can easily adjust the passing attack to what the other D is doing

That will probably take another offseason in the system

I wasn't attempting to lay blame on your defense for a sketchy win, but rather moreso trying to point out that we've won and lost several games that ended in similar fasion to the one in which you guys played today....and our defense is almost always the goat. They sucked bigtime today for sure, but even when they do play well, our fans still throw the defense under the bus. Right now, however, they deserve it.

Thats why your fanbase is your fanbase and ours is ours :)

I am very happy with the play of the defense today. If we had lost, this would have been on the offense
