Let's pretend... what if we had Brady Quinn ?

After Tony Romo threw his 5th INT last night in the endzone, my wife asked, "Can they take him out?"

I told her we didn't have anyone behind him and he was our future.

But let's play what-if.

What-if ... we didn't trade our first round pick and actually took Brady Quinn ?

Would Cowboy fans have started calling for Quinn after Romo's 5th INT?

I have to admit, there were moments last night where I found myself searching for a savior. Old man Brad Johnson wasn't the answer ... even to relieve Romo to settle himself down.

I never gave up hope that Tony could get things turned around. Honestly I felt some how or some way Dallas was going to pull that game off.

Nope. Not at all. I expected Romo to have a silly game at some point in this season.

Now this was sillier than I expected, but I still back Romo.

He would have been right where Brad Johnson was last night. On the sidelines where he belongs right now. Nothing changes that.

Maybe he doesn't put his helment on like Johnson did, but never the less, same deal.

You never pull a starting QB like that unless they have shown a history of doing so, see Rex Grossman. This is Romo's first bad game of this young season and anyone would actually talk about pulling him?

I'd like to think that Cowboy fans are more sopisticated than to start calling for a rookie when Romo has a bad stretch.

Look, I don't like posters who see a post or thread and then say it's a useless one. Or a dumb one.

But I will pose the question: What is the use of pretending anything about BQ?

We got a better QB.

Never lost any confidence in Romo last night.

He's going to put up these kind of games on occasion.

He didn't lost the team. He clearly didn't lose the confidence of the coaching staff.

I think pulling Romo would have been a HUGE mistake.

I agree. I want to see Tony be a bit smarter at times but I don't want him to ever be afraid of going out and trying to make plays. You make a mistake put it behind you and go right back at them again. I'll take that over a guy who is so afraid of making a mistake that he is unwilling to make plays.

I think it's pretty clear that he's the real deal. No need for him to be looking over his shoulder anymore...

Last night was the flip side of the play when Gurode snapped the ball over his head vs the Rams...he SHOULD have just fallen on that ball. He didn't. AND he made a play that changed the game.

Last night was the downside to his mentality. BUT there will be and have been, many more good moments than bad.

Either did I...for some reason I was confident we'd win up until the incompletion to TO on the two point conversion. I had a tremendous let down after that. I damn near turned off the television, but stuck it out long enough to see Hurd and Curtis rekindle our hopes once again.

If I had turned off that tv...I wouldn't be able to live with myself right now (but i'd have one or two less bruises).

Strange as it sounds my folks were watching the game at my house and were about to leave and I told them well hold on we still have the onside kick this is not over yet. I about jumped out of my skin when I believe it was Hurd who almost got it at the 40 and then really lost it when Curtis hustled down field to fall on it.

I wouldn't have thought much about it, for 4 weeks we were averaging 24 points in the 2nd half, so I was confident last night that we would put up enough points in the 2nd half to win

although it deviated far from what I was expecting
