Don't kid yourself.
You just confirmed my suspicions that you are, in fact, Caesar.

I'm glad you changed that. it didn't make any sense before.Bach;2187676 said:Don't think that thought hasn't crossed my mind too.

And I was told that Packer fans loved Atari Bibgy, when, despite me living in Wisconsin amongst thousands of Packer fans (admittedly, not all sober) my recollections said otherwise.

Paint me a picture of what your reaction would be - or what you think the front page of the forum would look like, or where you think Roy-haters would be rubbing their cocoa-butter after making a new thread about the play.
It's fair game, honestly. These things just cross my mind.

But I give Roy credit where credit is due and blame where its due.
EGG;2187603 said:Should we also pretend that none of these players have a history of making or not making these plays? If that's the case, then the ref was definitely a nit-picking SOB,,, otherwise it's Roy's fault
superpunk;2187772 said:I could care less about a players "history". This "guy" is one "of" the highest paid safeties in the NFL - and he just flat out blew it.
Unbearable load.
Hamlin's a little too worried about making preseason Sportscenter and talking to Red Jesus imo...needs to rededicate himself.
InmanRoshi;2187780 said:When Hamlin makes it a 3 year habit, there will be a ton of outrage if Hamlin keeps getting burned. It took over 2 years before people began to wake up to how badly Roy's play had declined. A lot of people didn't finally own up to it until the coaches actually started taking him off the field because he was such a liability. They honestly felt Roy was no worse than any other safety in coverage. The denial was unbelievable. I'm still not sure some people believe it, even when Campo comes out and admits he's not the same player.
But somehow if Hamlin's play dramatically drops off the way Roy's did, I don't see a lot of people staunchly defending him every step of the way the way a lot of people did Roy. Not a lot of people own a Ken Hamlin replica jersey and there is nowhere near the degree hero worship and emotional investment involved as there was with Roy.
superpunk;2187796 said:So what you're saying is not only does Hamlin not have the reputation as a poor coverage guy that would be necessary to have hordes of people crucify him on the innernets, but he also doesn't have the goodwill built up from years of stellar play to have defenders on the other side, enabling both parties to engage in an epic battle played out over and over again in the exact same manner?
This is something we'll have to work on. I guess we're going to need a few more years of Hamlin being one of the best and highest paid safeties in the league and then screwing up every few games before we can really run him out of town.
Good point. Needed to rededicate himself, got big money, and then sucked it up right out of the gate.stealth;2187806 said:Did anyone notice hamlin looks thinner?
I think he lost some weight in the off season.
