Let's pump the brakes on Irving

The guy has little to no help on that line right now. The guy has been great in relativity, IMO.
I remember 3 years ago, you used to be one of my most annoying posters on the board, now you're one of my favorite.

Marinelli has been tapping breaks on Irving all season, maybe he needs to step on gas instead.

How many other Cowboys DL have been defensive player of the week this season? Irving likely gets another one with his performance against TB. McClain was good. Collins was good. Mayowa was good. Irving was utter devestation.

Crawford lined up against that same scrub RT before leaving game. But it was Irving and only Irving that not just dominated that RT but forced TB to throw kitchen sink at Irving just to try and slow him down, no avail.

Winston had to file a restraining order just get back to his own sideline. Fans can tap breaks all they want but I hope Irving doesn't, now that he's unleashed.
"Restraining order..." yaaassss! Tap the brakes my sweet patootey. I don't know what to do with myself:oldcouple:

While I agree he dominates the game last night and deserves a lot of credit in the win, his play is too inconsistent for me to anoint him the "Pass Rusher Supreme" just yet.

I hope he builds on this game, especially this time of year. Man it would be awesome if one of the DL, or the whole DL TBH, caught fire right before the playoffs. Irving just hasn't been the consistent threat we need yet. His good games are random right now, but I truly hope he turns the corner.

During the game when he became more consistent that's when they stopped the rotation and left them there, with Lawrence and the others guys coming back this defense will be flying around.

He needs to play the edge more to see what he can do over the long haul.. it was a backup RT, but he then went and abused the rookie that benched the backup RT..

He was a man possessed last night.. maybe LT transferred his soul into him last night..
Cherilus while a back up in TB has started a lot of games in the NFL at a high level I would say he is on par or hair below Free.

Well, he got more snaps because of the absence of Lawrence/Thornton. Maybe he just needs that. Everyone knows the guy hasn't been doing this all season. We won, and he played a big part. No need to pump anything. It's a happy day.
Maybe he's just a gamer... one of those guys that don't always look their best during the week at practice but somehow can flick the switch on game day.

I hope that's the case

You can narrow it down further than one game. Try one quarter. He did all his damage in the 4th quarter.

These let's "pump the brakes" threads after any time people get excited over a performance of a player or team in a big game are tiring. So many people want to be 'that guy' and look cool by telling everyone to calm down and it's just one game.

Yeah well that one game he did a heck of a job and won defensive player of the week in GB.

No thanks, I'll keep the foot on the gas and hope he parlay this game into 5 more and win the Super Bowl.

Dude was an animal last night. The Bucs were giving thier line help against him and he was still disruptive. Let the man have his moment! Hopefully that kind of play gives him some confidence moving forward and he can be everything we are hoping he can be. Even a little disruption is welcome on this Dline.
