Let's revisit a few past moves this team has made

Completely incorrect. Connor has NFL strength which is why he was considered by many to be the best OT in the draft. The only reason he wasn't a first rounder was due to injury questions.
His scouting report touted a "power-packed frame".

Might want to check your source, it's bad.
ksk, I love ya man but it’s painfully obvious watching Collins get beat to the outside rush after rush that he ain’t the answer at RT. The switch needs to happen. La’el absolutely sucks at RT.

In regards to what? The Byron Jones move? I give them small credit for at least writing the wrong. In years past this team has had a problem admitting they were wrong. Moving Byron back to corner admits you were wrong.
it was the past DB coaches decision wasnt it?

Just like what happens now....except no one here to make the best corner work. All he has to do is just sit there. Not sure why you even going down this route. Dez isn't here, this teams receiving core is one of the worst in the league......neither side of the coin are in any position to brag. Dez is out of a job and the Cowboys receivers aren't very good.

They were one of the worst in the league last year. At least we aren't paying a bad route running mental midget 16 million per year. If the line continues to block, you will see better chemistry begin to develop with the receivers that are here. To expect us to see immediate results with the poor Oline play early was too much.

Dez is unemployed for a reason. Hes simply not good enough to put up with his antics.

I agree with everything you said, my only "gripe" is with Byron jones and the fact that he has brick hands. I don't think I've ever seen a professional football player with worse hands!

This board was desperate for a big time WR and there were hardly any of those available in the draft.

I still contend I like Sutton more.
I really wish we had Sutton right now instead of gallup. Sutton looks like a future number one receiver. he would probably be our second best receiver right now.

I'm not entirely sure but if I had to guess.....the Cowboys fell in love with the "ball hawk safety" and decided to move a guy with great measurable to free safety. I didn't mind Byron at free safety but if it came down to being a great corner or a good safety....should've been great corner.

The decision was never Gallup over Sutton. They got great value for Gallup in the 3rd round. The only way to get Sutton was to either trade down and get him from LVE or draft him at 19.

You mean at least Jerry isn't paying a "bad route running mental midget" 16 million per year? Because not only did "we" not pay anything but "we" also didn't benefit when we cut him. They did NOTHING with the money and they continue to do nothing. It seems Dez is unemployed because he wants to be. Ravens gave him a fair contract and he turned it down.

LOL...….so he is sitting on his couch making nothing because he wanted to? That proves my point even more. He is an idiot.

I really cant control what the Cowboys did or didn't do with the money. I know they tried to sign Watkins (thank you that didn't work out) and they were probably assuming they could trade for the Seattle safety. But like I said, I have no idea why this front office does what they do. Although I know if will have an effect on the salary cap next year dumping Dez.

Dez is so wrapped up in himself he isnt worth it.

He got ONE offer from 31 teams and he was too stupid to take it. The guy is a moron. Its pretty clear the league has no interest beyond the Ravens at one time. And they are probably happy he said no at this point.

That needs to happen if you ask me.
Connor and Collins are playing much better. If they are going to move them then they need to as soon as possible. Hard to develop when you keep moving around. Personally I wouldn't change it since each week they are improving. Add Frederick in the middle and now we cooking with peanut oil

This organization made some terrible moves this offseason starting with how they handled the wide receiver position. Stupidity and arrogance IMO.

But there are a few moves this team has made in the past few seasons that are helping this team out now.

Choosing Jaylon Smith over Myles Jack seems to have been the right move. Not only do they have a solid linebacker but they also have a guy who can rush the passer.

Brett Maher over Dan Bailey. Another stupid move by this organization. Or so I thought. I don't know if it was this team having zero faith in Bailey to return to form or too much faith in Maher. The guy has been GREAT. Even his makes are looking better and better by the week.

LVE. What can you say about him? This team was essentially winless without Sean Lee and some of the games were historically bad for the defense. Wow what a year does. Ridley is having a great year but this is how you replace a player like Sean Lee. Do it while he's still on the team. Don't wait until you cut him or until he retires and be left with nothing. What I like about LVE and Jaylon is they look the part. They look like machines out there playing.

Re-signing Joe Looney. I think at best we thought he was a decent backup. I don't think any of us had any faith in him actually starting for us at center and he has been very good. He looks to be in the best shape I've ever seen him in.

Moving Byron Jones back to corner. Long overdue. He wasn't a bad safety but he's now looking like a potential lock down corner and making it easier to forgive this team for going Zeke over Ramsey.

Good post. I agree with everything you said. I think the Byron move and LVE have changed our entire defense. I was happy with the LVE pick because I thought we needed LB help, but I never thought he would be as good his first year. Moving Byron Jones to CB has been a game changer and has dramatically improved our secondary. Makes you wonder what took them so long to figure it out!

This will all be in vain if we don't make it to at least the NFC championship. We've seen talent walk and win on other teams before.

You can't fault anything they've done in the draft of late and we've done some really nice work with our own free-agents (Heath, Martin, Frederick, Jones 5th year, etc).

If there is a weakness it's the last 4-5 years we've done terribly in the 1m-4m per season deals. A couple like Darren McFadden and Joe Thomas have been alright but the are the exceptions to the rule that is Brinkley, Paea, Thornton, Mayowa, Hurns, Carroll, Bell, Ealy etc. I really don't want us to continue to shop in that market. Either take draft picks, UDFA's, or minimum contract dudes and pool the cash to retain the odd higher priced mid-tier player like Church, McClain, Leary and Keith Smith.
