Let's simplify

The fans in the stadium are pretty loud. They yell their ***** off as loud as they can. But it's a really big stadium with a very high roof.

I think accoustically it's just not ever going to be as loud as some other stadiums, even some outdoor stadiums, because of the way it is constructed.

They stated that the acoustics were designed to funnel down to the field, like Seattle's stadium. Though as you said, the stadium is so large they may not have obtained that same effect. how they achieve that in Seattle, who knows. Personally I think they pump in sound, or it is just the networks over play the noise issue.
You notice the decibel level is always taken on the field, elsewhere it seems it is just shown what the decibel level is, as if taken from the booth.
Also the booth I believe is enclosed at AT@T stadium, so therefore the sound is muffled during the broadcast as opposed to open air booths. It was that way at the beginning, not sure how it is now.

However, the design part that does work it is funneled down as to allowing it not to be as noisy in the upper levels.
I guess fans want it so loud they can't hear the person next to them talk. then they would be complaining about that.

I have been to many games and it can get pretty loud. However certain sections do just sit there at times doing nothing. too many people on their phones just like other stadiums just like anywhere you go, store, mall, bar, restaurant. Anyway where my tickets were, one game it could be very loud, the next 30% or so would not do much. I rarely had fans from other teams sit near by where I was at.

Too many corporate seats with casual fans going to the games and using it for a social event!

Not really, not as many corporate seats as you think. And for the seats owned by corporations, it is not always the execs that go and use them. And what, they can't be fans? They can't go to. a game and let loose and scream and yell?

Beside most corporations have private boxes and suites for that "social" event. But still many give away those tickets to customers and employees.

People need to stop using this excuse.

There are several auto dealers here that have season tickets and private boxes to Cowboys, Rangers, Stars, Mavericks. A friend and his wife bought a new car. They gave them 4 passes, including parking right by the stadium to a Rangers game in their private box, free food and beer. They had 4 tickets and took me. and with the other 16 people there, no one sat on their butts not cheering.

I have several friends. that worked the private suites bartending at Texas Stadium and AT&T stadium. They had mixed crowds. But always at least half of them, from "corporate seats" were pretty loud. Sometimes most of them, sometimes less than half. but never they all sat there doing nothing. They work the same suites most of the time too.

You've put your finger on one of the problems. I've got season tickets and I see the crowd yelling their lungs out every game. I go home hoarse every time. But the stadium just isn't contructed to maximize the effects of crowd noise.

It is supposed to be. But I think there is some type of design flaw.
I will call it a "Garrett Process" flaw.

If we want to generate more noise we should seIl ☆cowbells☆ and make them affordable. Even run some promotions to give hundreds of them away. Make it enticing to the fans to want to ring that bell. Much like the vuvuzela at soccer games.

Great question. Transcendental meditation maybe. A set of head phones and a continuous loop of ... home is my friend.... home is my friend... home is my friend.... mmmm pancakes... home is my friend :)

I've also wondered about something else. I have absolutely nothing to back this up, but I've wondered if the TV broadcast is situated such that the mics just don't pick up the noise like they do in other stadiums.

Could very well be. I know phones do that, to eliminate background noise as much as possible. So why not in the stadiums as well so fans can actually hear the announcers. Not that we want to hear Bucky Joe and Troy.......But to hear Tony, yes we want to hear him. :D

Get rid of the JJ screen over head so dudes can't watch themselves running with the ball before they catch it. Pipe, play Zamfir or Kenny G over the speakers to relax da boys. Umm, install out door toilets on the sidelines so dudes can take a pee or a dump without running all the way back to the locker room. Ummm, change the goal line while the officials have their back turned and make our field 5 yards shorter every down. That last one might be tricky. Hire a great magician? A hypnotist? Yeah, I got nothin

This team has never had any kind of home field advantage and I hate that gigantic stadium too.

Interesting comments about the sound levels in Seattle.

Hmm..

Decibel-gate.

Inflating the sound levels.

Lets investigate it.

I hate domes, and the Cowboys might as well be in one since they rarely open it up. I'd play outdoors on grass. You can still cover the seating areas, as they do in soccer stadiums in England (and did at Texas Stadium). But that ship has sailed, as football is just one many events held in these oversized arenas.

Wasn’t the seating area in old Texas Stadium covered? I understand why Jerry built what he did but there’s nothing better than watching a game being played in the elements. Imagine teams playing outdoors in Dallas in early September. The heat would surely be a factor and one that is hope would benefit the team used to playing in it(although it didn’t help versus the Eagles many years ago. Lol!).

Yeah, get rid of Rowdy...came on the scene in 1996.....and we been jinxed ever since....

Rowdy must go...Rowdy must go...Rowdy must go....
It’s CURTAINS for Rowdy! See what I just did?

I incorporated the need for curtains and the ousting of Rowdy. Damn near genius!

Man,I enjoyed reading your post Motown:clap:
I really thought the cherry on top in that 16 season was finally breaking the toes of BALTIMORE when #4,21& co. SLAMMED the DOOR ON IT *whew, finally! Their free ranging ride in our A.O. ENDED:thumbup:

Thanks man. Yea that was an awesome moment. T Sizzle and Co., the team whose very identity for years was not only was the D going to stop you, but also break your will and humiliate you. After our O line dominated them they had that look on their face like the Packers D of the 90's had, pretty much "There is nothing we can do, we mentally waive the white flag." It was beautiful.

We don't get to hear the broadcast announcers in the stadium. We don't even get to hear Brad and Babe. Just the stadium announcer.
