Happy for your optimism but they are not solid. They have their moments but they will have difficulty finishing close games. Getting Claiborne and Wilcox will help but they lack player-makers (except Lee) in the front seven.

Yeah, that's what people keep saying, but the defense continues to be one of the stingiest in the league when it comes to what matters most: points!!!

Plus, he's had 8 TD's and 2 Int's with a 93 QB rating, he played winning football, there is no way anybody can blame him for his 2-4 record in the playoffs, he was the main reason they made it that far in the first place.

Not to mention his 125 QB rating in the playoffs in 2014.
And one of those 2 ints was a throw away, no choice thing. Last play, either throw it away (which helps the stats but gives you no chance) or throw it into the endzone and at least have a chance.

So really, one legit in in 6 games.

The same folks that were so quick to write off Romo because Dak is the hot hand are now the ones that want to ride with the guy that has struggled for the past couple of games. It should work both ways.

To me, the offense becomes a more dynamic passing offense with Romo involved, period. I have felt that all along. Ask yourself this question? If there is no running game going, can you say with reasonable confidence that Dak could throw his way into a victory? We were only down by 3 points last night and I knew the game was over. It felt like a 21 point lead. There hasn't been many games that I have felt that way with Romo as the QB. Besides last night, I can't remember a time where we held Eli to one passing TD and losing. Amazing..

Say what? The Cowboys would have to go 1-2 while the Giants go 3-0, or Dallas go 0-3 and the Giants go 2-1, for the tie breaker to come into play. That's effectively a two game lead.

It's not a two game lead if you can lose your lead after two games.

More screens and more Ezekiel on 3rd downs. Why we abandoned the run I don't know but that 3rd and 11 sweep was one of the dumbest calls I've seen alllllll year. It was like a give up play
Like a thousand times!

How would it only be temporary? I just gave a bunch of reasons why it could have a lasting impact. Dak brought us to the best record in the NFL and almost guaranteed us home-field advantage. Romo has never done that. What happens if we bench Dak and Romo fails early in the playoffs? What kind of message does that send to Dak? Does it shake his confidence next season when he's given back the starting role (if he even is). Does it put a chip on his shoulder and cause unnecessary beef between coach/team/ownership knowing that the team didn't trust him enough to finish the season that he started? In a perfect world, Romo comes in, does what he's never proven he can do up to this point, wins the Super Bowls, retires, rides off into the sunset, hands the keys to Dak, then Dak, with a smile on his face, takes over next year and continues the success. But in reality, I see a lot more ways things could go wrong in this situation than right.
Dak didn't do that. Zeke and the offensive line led the way.

I can not understand how we continue to allow teams to blitz the A gaps on nearly every first down. Don't we have anything in our offensive game plan that can counter it?

Yes run outside but they are trailing those plays and covering the sweeps and jets etc. Teams can be shut down in one area at the expense of exposing themselves elsewhere. We just aren't taking advantage of that and forcing teams to play us straight.

NY gets kudos for executing an excellent defensive game plan although teams have been writing that play esp since the Min game.

They would be foolish to not take advantage of Romo at this time. In fact I would have put him in no later than the middle of the third quarter.

This isn't about Romo vs Dak but who has the best chance of defeating the enemy.

Yes.

Stop doing what isn'the working.

Try no huddle..

stop pounding Zeke at 8 man fronts..

Throw quickly and spread the offense..

use Dez as a decoy and quit forcing it to him.

Use a flea flicker or halfback pass..

kick the OL butt for holding so much..

cut down on the defensive penalties...

Don't be afraid to sit Dunbar and Morris.

Use DMAC and get the ball to Beasley..

Beasley was killing it but becuz DAK has been programmed to get it to Dez..

Beasley has become lost again.

Diversity was our best weapon.

We have given that up for forcing the ball to Zeke and Dez.

We have become 2 dimensional and we are not built to grind out victories.

Our defense will not win games for us..

so stop playing like they will.

Get them off the field and things will change.

The last couple of games, the offense hasn't looked great, but we continued to win. Opposing defenses have come up with a plan that has slowed us down, but it's the job of the coaches to come up with a plan to get the offense working again. We need the play-makers on this team to make plays. Dak didn't have a great game, but neither did our receivers. The Giants didn't play that well either on Offense, but they hit on one big play. If Butler would have caught that ball, we would be 12-1, not 11-2. If funny how a couple of plays changes everything. Butler's drop. Bailey missed field goal. Church's dropped INT, twice. Dez fumble. If any of these were reversed what might be the outcome of this game?

Bottom line, the coaches need to come up a game plan to get this offense moving again, and the players need to get refocused.

hmmm.........Lets see, Safeties up in the box, Used to be we'd see a steady dose of Witten deep down the seam on the hash markes, presume they just dont see him able to do it any longer and be a threat. Could we show Escobar down the seam behind those 9 in the box safties just once? Its a simple route, he couldnt drift, just follow the hash marks north and south.............Easy for Dak to see

Instant results of backing those Alabama S's off the los........

oh and then give Bease/Dez et all some easy separation with Stack's, rubs, slot motion........

Never (and I do mean never) in the history of football has there been a player who has had his body of work so distorted by the sports media like Tony Romo.

The fact that even our own fans are poisoned by it is really sad. I can understand the argument for sticking with Dak, but there's no need to trash Romo in the process.

Experience matters..................there is a reason no rookie QB in the history of the NFL has won a SB...........I highly doubt Dak is going to be the first.

But the decision is not mine..............if it was, Romo would be the starter right now.

Stack the box and make Dak beat you. Simple formula until the kid steps up and figures it out.
And for the record, you cannot do that with Romo in (stack the box)

I was thinking this exact same thing.

That team had a great record at 13-3 but our division rivals kill us in december/january. We went 1-3 the last 3 games, including playoffs, that year losing to, Eagles, Commanders and Giants (playoffs)

It could VERY well turn out that way if Dak continues to struggle and they stubbornly stick with him. However, if they have the courage to make the switch and Tony provides a spark....it could be a story book ending to his career a la John Elway and/or Payton Manning. No one is talking about this possibility: but I'm a lifelong Cubs fan guys. I always try to see the silver lining if possible. Lastly, we didn't HAVE this option in 2007 so...there you go.

The Butler drop didn't hurt us as we scored on the next play anyway. The second Church dropped INT and the holding calls on Byron Jones that resulted in a 38 yard field position swing and the T. Will hold that brought back a Beasley screen that had us in FG range facing a 3rd and one. Those are some of the plays that we have to make when our QB is off the reservation.

After rewatching the game. The weather was a much bigger factor than I thought, not just for dak but for Eli too. we need home field advantage
It was, imo. Both teams had a lot of drops. It must have been humid as well as cold. Even though Chris Collinsworth full on fellated Beckham, he had 2 drops on easy catches.

yes, the score should have been much worse. Something like 24-10 in favor of the Giants
