I am not too concerned if DQ leaves... I actually expect him to. Who is DQ's, right-hand man? His assistant? He knows the philosophy, he knows the schemes and he knows the limitations of the players. DQ has left a template. Just follow the template and the defense should still be good next season. Hire from within.

ok .. i thought special teams coach Bones Fassel contract was expiring too.

Some may have soured on Bones because of kicker Brett Maher's drastic late season struggles but overall his unit was very solid this year.
returner... (turpin). punter . coverage, and Maher was actually very solid major of reg. season)

Only drop off i really noticed was a decline of blocked punts to where we were the best in that area last year in '21.

The Cowboys defense will be at the top of every prospective coordinators list. The best DCs can't be boxed into a scheme stereotype. I'm sure Flores can be innovative with personnel.
correct, neither was Quinn, he didn't use his normal defenses or schemes hes used in the past fulltime. he reinvented it to fit our best playmakers. this is why Nolan filed and got the boot, he was unwilling to change. Well that and he didn't have Parsons LOL

I keep seeing people post that Quinn isn't HC material and better as a DC. Well, obviously front officers across the league disagree. Even if it is true, he's going to get another shot.

I'd open my wallet for Fangio (something tells me he wouldn't be interested in coming here) or Flores.

We've built Dan Quinn's defense, and it has paid dividends. Fast, aggressive hybrid defenders who limit big plays. In two playoff games, we held the Bucs to 14 points and no big plays, and the Niners only got 19 points and one big play.

I'd try promoting Al Harris or George Edwards. Whoever you think can keep running Quinn's system.
