Let's talk about LT Overton

I might be in the minority but I would always take a risk on a Bama player who has shown glimpses of being very good. Bama knows how to recruit and recognize talent. I like the gamble.

He underachieved in college, and I hate drafting guys whose play doesn't line up with their measurables. But, at this point in the draft, we aren't looking at superstars. The % of 4th rounders still in the NFL after 3 years is less than 5%.

Tcraw, @Stash favorite player of all time.

Jonathan Bullard clone... he will be good enough to play the 2 gapping run stopper by his sophomore season. He needs to stack on some poundage; about 15. He will never be a threat in the pass game IMO. Run stoppers are not invaluable and he will probably be on the roster for the entirety of his rookie contract. Look at it as a 3-4 version of Chauncey Golston signing.

Don't get on me about saying he's a two gapper when their running gap and a half scheme either. I think his fit is 2 gap he don't have the lateral agility to be a perfect gap and a half player. You take what you can get and maybe they can work on his deficiencies and make a player out of him.
Dont put that Golston JuJu on this guy. Golston was trash and never should have been drafted. LT actually has talent

I completely forgot about Golston and I forgot he was on the Giants last year. I agree, Overton has way more upside.

Y’all can hold me to it, but I don’t think Overton is going to provide much of anything to this team.

He’s a poor, not even marginal, but a poor athlete that has tweener size. He never really produced at Bama against lesser talent so I have a hard time envisioning that he suddenly becomes a productive player against better athletes and talent across from him in the NFL.
