Robinson had to be carried out by a stretcher. I know the NFL and Cowboys are extra cautious with these types of injuries but i truly hope that he is okay.

Tyron Smith cannot block Demarcus Ware and Broaddus has been critical of him getting overextended. That was a negative in most scouting reports i have read.

The offensive line is getting some push in the running game. The defnse might clog the interior but 4 yards on getting off the line and putting the defender backwards is a good sign. that tells me we might see some better performance in short yardage this year.

David Arkin got into it with Jay Ratliff. Day 3 and they are getting chippy. I like that for some reason. Ratliff seems to do a good job of irritating interior blockers. I like that too.

I understand that its early and offense is going to start slow but it seems our secondary is making some plays on the ball even with the 'JAGs' we have at S.

Heard mentioned that Ryan is installing blitzes on every installation. Garrett is true to his word when he says they install aggressively. Hope they can execute.

Lee appears to be running to the football. Lissemore's name popped up several times as well. Described as 'leading the charge.'

Anything stand out to any of you guys. This is just off the top of my head. I just would like to steer the conversation to the guys we actually do have.

I read he had one blitz they were running where Ryan had 1 linemen (ratliff) 5 LBs and 5 DBs on the field and set Ratliff all 5 LBs and a DB. He has way more imagination than Wade ever will. I cant wait to see what he does with these guys.

That is in KMP's video in the training camp video sticky on the 2nd page. The day 2 practice, right around the 10:30 mark. He calls it psycho formation or something, IIRC.

It's a 1-5-5 and it is called a psycho formation. It's pretty cool.

Ya, but what about Nnamdi? :D Couldn't help myself, good thread.

Today they wore pads..how physical was it? Compare it with a wade practice in pads..thanks

As for the UDFAs, I think Leong and Radway look interesting. I also think D Harris is doing pretty well.

I think Bailey is kicking well - obviously. He's 15/15 so far. One of the Cowboys reporters mentioned it reminded him of Nick Folk's rookie year.

Brandon Williams seems to be around the ball quite a bit as well.

I also read on the tweets that B Carter was conditioning on the sidelines. He looks to be around 90% (according to Carter, at least).

I'm hearing Victor Butler and Brandan Williams are both doing really well..

Fuzzy, these threads are great. Keep 'em coming.

Off the top of my head:

1) I like that the linemen are wearing knee braces again.

2) Pleased to hear that Shaun Chapas shows some pop in his blocks. I'm not as down on Gronkowski as some, but I want our fullback to be a strong lead blocker.

3) Sounds like our top three wide receivers are looking good overall. Although Ogletree has made a couple of mistakes, he seems to be better focused this year and could flash back to his rookie form.

4) Pleased to hear that Holland was doing a good job of pulling today. He might be in bad shape, but if he can get out on the linebackers, it can't be too bad.

5) Sounds like Sam Young was doing pretty well at RT, but fared poorly overall at LT.

6) Our top corners, Jenkins and Newman, also appear to be playing well coming off last year's poor performance.

7) Love all the ways Ryan is mixing it up on defense. I don't know how much of it we'll use, but he's sure taking a look at everything possible.

7) And how about Dan Bailey? The rookie kicker's perfect and could be a major UDFA addition if he keeps it up. (If that happens, expect Jerry to never draft a kicker again ... which is OK with me.)

Keep hearing Harris and ogletree so that's promising. Also it appears FJ is running very fluid. And I am stoked to hear lee's name often. I am not worried about the line missing free kosier and AG. I am not surprised they are getting pushed around... Sorry posting from my cell phone..

Good thread. Two things have stuck out to me this early on.

1) Victor Butler continues to make plays. He never gets the hype, the Cowboys seem to be begging for Brandon Williams to surpass him for whatever reason and the guy just consistently makes his presence felt in his limited role.

2) Orlando Scandrick seems to be picking up where he left off the end of last year. Very active and disruptive. I really like the guy and think Rob can have some fun sending him on the blitz this year.

Ryan defensive schemes (blitz packages) are really exotic..the last few years alot ppl on this board would have u believe our defensive players are too dumb to learn exotic plays..it sounds like the defensive players are excited about Ryan's complex style..this leads me to believe it was more Phillips than the players..i can't wait to see this defense in action..

Offense is always behind the defense to start camp. I was hoping that Smith would come out and just dominate.

Time to be realistic. He's a rookie....It'll take time.

Love to hear that Arkin is showing fight. We need a scrapper at OG.

I also love to hear how competitive things are in practice.

I also read Vela's observations on tip drills, getting balls knocked down at the line of scrimmage, and keeping fumbles from going out of bounds.

Rob is really the key to our season. If he can turn this D around we will be a very strong team.

Nice recap again Fuzzy.. is Arkin playing RG with the first team?

I just got back from the Dome, here's what I saw.

Ogletree made some very impressive catches, he is a totally different player this year.

Dez is a beast. Catches everything near him..... Miles was also very impressive. #13 made some pretty nice catches, and runs some pretty good routes, nice seperation.

Marty also made some nice catches, and was running some longer pass patterns.

I know this is not going to be our starting OL, but these guys can not pass block for nothing. Tony had some nice pass plays to his receivers, but in real time he would have been sacked before he hit his 5th step.

Ware is unlockable.......most of the linebackers looked very quick and active. I can see Lee and Butler doing very well in this defense.

This defense looks very strange at times.....on one play #40 was the standup nose tackle, with Rat also standing up and backing into coverage. There was 6 linebackers on the field.

Lots of corner blitzes, and they were getting there.

Hollnad is a huge blob, he left the field for a while, and into the locker room. He came back before the end of practice. He is in no shape to be effective.

Sendejo is a keeper, as a backup Safety and special teamer.

The rookie kicker is impressive. Right down the middle on every kick, no matter the angle. And with room to spare! Buehler maybe in toruble.

Wade's parctice was a picnic compared to the one I saw today. These player were exhausted. Very fast paced, and Garrett was on top of everything. He was right behind the kickers while kicking their FGs.

Ryan makes Wade look anorexic!

We need at least one safety. It was imipressive seeing Church lining up the whole defense and moving them around. He was very active, but I would like to see one more safety. I don't see AOA being ready.

DeMarco Murray, and Carter were woriking out in front of me, both were running at full speed. They should start practicing anytime soon.
