I was a bit suprised and concerned Dallas didn't pull Colombo out of that game. He was obviously getting beat to the outside and couldn't shift properly. Now I realize that Colombo is as tough as they come (just see this guy in person during his pre-game warmup...he looks like he got out of jail yesterday). But it almost cost Dallas the game. The media would have had a field day with Wade if it did cost Dallas the game....because the obvious question would be......how good can McQ be if the coaches won't replace a one legged OL with him. Wade had some nice comments about McQ this week saying he is probably the fastest OL ( I think he ran someone down earlier this year, circa: larry allen). I think its time to see where McQ is and give Colombo much needed rest next week.

I feel Colombo was a big reason the O struggled at times. Romo had a lot of pressure today.

I dont think there is anyway columbo would come off the field if he can play, and I applaud him for that. that is the attitude that has us 12-1.

Also I bet he knows mcquistan can play and in this league, especially on this team you dont want to let the backup making less money to step on the field and put up similar results.

I love columbo. He referred to the 2 minute offense tonight as the fastball offense, fitting a baseball reference from a chowderhead, I am glad he is ours.

This is a serious question.

What has McQ done to make people believe he's ready for a major role? He gets talked up by the coaches, but the coaches talk up everybody.

I'd personally rather see Free or Marten out there in spot play, but what do I know.

Either way, letting one of the young guys play may have been the better choice. Get healthy for the big run!

McQ, Free or Marten it doesn't matter to me. But one of those guys should have got some playing time yesterday.

This is up to the coaches. There are times when you need to sit a guy down who is injured and struggling. I am a little worried that our staff is too reluctant to do that. Columbo should NOT have been playing. At the very least in the second half they should have at least TRIED MCQ to see if he could do better.

I agree, could have even gotten Romo dinged up or worse ..

From Columbos' point of view.....is not his contract have alot of incentives, of which i'm sure starts, qtrs players etc are probably a big part.......

so in addition to Columbo's pride in starting......the incentive laden contract enters in.....

and finally.........been alot of guys in pro-sports---injury etc happens and they never do end up getting back in to their position

The coaches etc get a look at the young guy and its over.........Drew Bledsoe case in point.......with Brady anyways, i belive it was an injury...

I was surprised he started with how he looked, and more surprised they didnt replace him early in the game...maybe they dont have as much confidence in McQuistan as they let on, because Columbo was nowhere close to 100% yesterday and looked bad

unless he cant walk at all this week he'll probably start vs Philly too, and Philly's DE's will be just as tough on him, if not moreso than Detroit's yesterday

our coaching staff hasnt made many mistakes this yr, but I think playing Columbo yesterday might have been one

Columbo said during the postgame he is 75% and will be better next week. He also said he isnt coming out and he is going to give them everything he has even if he is dinged up.

There is no way he is coming out.

I'm glad he has that attitude but I was surprised that the coaches did not take him out given the problems he was having yesterday. In the end it is the coaches call to make and Romo's body they need to protect. I’m not down on Colombo I think he was doing the best he could given his injury but his play also put Romo at a bigger risk

thats great, love the warrior mentality and all...but he hurt the team yesterday

if at 75% he's better than a 100% McQuistan, so be it...but if thats the case we may have bigger depth issues at OL than any of us believed

well it is tough to justify taking a guy out yesterday when he played more injured against kampman and was fantastic all day. He was beat I believe two times against kampman, but so what.

I just dont think you can take a guy out because of caution. I dont believe he was nearly as poor as some people here do. He had a couple of plays where he struggled but because aikman showed him getting beat once and said he is injured everyone is acting like he was terrible. He was not bad. He was not himself but he was not bad.

Leonard davis played hurt too, if you were going to sit columbo I would assume you would have sat davis too.

Davis plays on the inside but as a tackle you are facing outside pass rushers and Colombo played most of the game vs Kampman before he got injured in the game. It was pretty obvious to me that Colombo was having a hard time out on the edge. Again I'm not down on him but his play was not very good yesterday and Romo did face a lot more pressure off that side than he has seen in a while not all resulted in a sack but he was still having pressure bearing down on him and taking some hit as he released.

yeah it wasnt columbos best game. But he didnt exactly hurt the team either. I think it gets carried away sometimes when things like yesterday happened, aikman saying he was injured and showing him struggling for a play on a slo-mo replay.

I love the guy, He is going to get healthier. I know he is not coming off the field though and I think the staff is correct in not taking him off, he has earned that.

I'm just saying given the injury and the trouble that Colombo was having that maybe McQ should have gone into the game. I admire any player for wanting to be out there especially when they are fighting an injury but McQ is also part of this team and was healthy. I think he should have gone into the game after all it is not the players call about coming out of the game it is the call of the coaches.

Colombo struggled all day; though he didn't give up many sacks there was constant outside pressure. I was calling for McQ in the first half (so was my wife--what does that tell you), and I'm also concerned that they didn't seem to want to turn things over to McQ despite the clear problems Colombo was having.
