I see him getting in on the QB, but i won't lie i haven't keyed in on him much

I know most of you have. Is he good enough to play the left side?

I love how i see him in the backfield a lot, and would be a decent compliment to Ware, but maybe I am missing something, anybody know?

Butler needs to work on his pass coverage abilities. Right now he's purely a pass rush specialist.

All of that aside, though, he's a gracious, nice guy and he's built like a ton of bricks. He also wears classy suits on road trips from what I was able to see.

He's apparently a one trick pony or you'd think he'd play a little more than he does.

He's always pretty active when he's on the field. He really pressured Freeman pretty consistently in the 2nd half. I think he totaled 4 QB pressures.

yeah, i guess that's the big issue

Isn't Spencer a one trick pony? He is decent stopping the run, but rarely do I see him pressure the QB and he's average in coverage.

Spencer doesnt even have one trick

HE can rush the passer but thats it. Sucks vs the run and can not drop back into coverage.

Anyone have the clip of when Butler came in to replace Ware on thanksgiving and the Mimai RB made him look stupid in the backfield. If that was Ware or Spencer, it would have been a tackle. But the RB made a cut and left Butler just standing there and the RB picked up the 1st down.

You mean Reggie Bush? He's done that to quite a few guys in the open field. Just because Phil Simms says something doesn't mean it's true. Anyway, it was meant more as a compliment to Ware than a slam against Butler.

According to profootballfocus, Butler played 39 of the 46 snaps, dropped into coverage 9 times, and had a positive score in run defense, pass rushing, and coverage.

I don't know if it was Bush, I think it was Thomas, but it doesn't matter. It wasn't like the RB did a move, he just ran right by him. Butler just froze like he had no clue what to do.

It's funny that Butler's name only comes up when he's doing well. He's been on the field a good amount this season, the majority of the time he hasn't had much impact but as soon as he does, then there is always a post saying start him over Spencer.

I'm all for giving Butler an expanded role, but it should be noted that he has been getting opportunities all year.

It was Bush, and Butler did his job, which was to keep contain. Bush made a nice cut inside, and there was no interior flow to stop him.

I would have thought his job would have been to make the tackle and stop the RB for a loss or no gain besides letting him run by and pick up the first plus more yards. Maybe thats is whats wrong with the Defense. Atleast hit the guy or make him make a move, The RB never even slowed down.

This is correct. It is also something that Spencer fails to do

I like Victor,he plays with a ton of intensity and is a playmaker when he gets out on the field. He's the one that caused the Eli interception when he tipped it.Like him a lot!!:starspin

I have never seen Spencer unblocked let a RB just run right by him and not even put a hand on the RB.
