Believe in yourselves and stay positive. Go out there and do your best as all you can do is your best. There is nothing wrong with staying positive in the prospective of a possible loss as its builds character and foundation. You cant say well "we wasted positive thoughts on the loss and should have been thinking negative". Positive thoughts give energy while negative thoughts are energy draining. Negative thoughts can have a snowball effect where one thought leads to another until a team is just wrapped up in total negativity and all their energy and skill get zapped. If the Cowboys stay positive, be supportive of each other, and stay focused, this game is winnable. You cant just give up and fold on a bad play or series of downs.

The fans can be just as important. We need to let these players be the same person walking on the field as off the field. If we cheer them going on, lets cheer them coming off provided they have done their best. Mistakes happen and nerves get frayed but if we the fans stay positive and supportive and the team forms a supportive unit and believes in their abilities, we and the team can over come the odds and play a good game and even beat Cincinnati.

Wash, rinse, and repeat next week.

Well the whole purpose of a message board is to discuss something. Good or bad. So i think positive and negative has its place.

The Bengals are 2-2 so are beatable. The talk is a victory for them given our injury list. Either the Cowboys are injury prone or we have depend on a few key players to carry the team. But I think with good focused minds, the Cowboys can pull this one off. I would love to see Dak get some good accurate long distance completions but I have seen games won 10 yarding teams to death. I'd like to see a wide open game with some Cowboys plays on the highlight reels like we used to see when M. Irvin and E . Smith broke games open. Last week was a start.

Their 2 losses are to Denver and Pittsburgh so you are correct they are beatable but those are 2 of the very best teams in the league they lost to not Cleveland or Tampa Bay types.

I will do my part and hope the players can hear my support from the confines and safety of my man cave except for Williams. Good thing he couldn't hear what I was calling him at the end of the first game.

Having a positive attitude is a healthy benefit for the individual but has 0 effect on the players unless one is at the game cheering them on when they most need it and that hasn't been as apparent in the new digs as it is in some stadiums where I can hear and see a crowd lift a team. Cowboys fans, too often, act as if their cheers must be earned first.

If this thread is another effort to stem the tide of negativity from some posters, good luck. Some are "wait until the other shoe drops" conditioned, some are conflicted because they love their team but not all of the coaches or players and some people just get off on the negative side. And the more things swing to the positive side, the more they dig in. "I want to be unhappy, stop trying to cheer me up". The glass is never half full and they wouldn't have liked what was in it anyway.

Pessimists have the best of both worlds. Either they're right or pleasantly surprised. No risks in pessimism. I know this because for years I hid behind the mask of "realist" and was a card carrying pessimist. It takes discipline to be an optimist, if that doesn't come naturally and for me, it does not.

It depends on how those posts are done, both positive and negative. If it is negative criticism then yes, those are needed. But if they are just spewed as hate and always the same context...Jerry sucks, FO sucks, this sucks, that sucks. And from the same people, then that just drags the board down.

But the Steelers lost to the Eagles, who have not beat any decent teams yet, so how good can the Steelers be?

Which I'm happy there is a rant zone and mods move it there. The converation can continue. This is my first season on the boards because I was on the official board so before this. Happy to be here now. There's no better place to talk Cowboys.

And we're glad to have you, Shinaoi!

Yes, the Rant Zone is great, namely as a place to house @Gabe's incendiary threads!

Yes, it can be fatiguing but there aren't any rules against that so it's just part of the forum experience. As a, relatively, new member here but long time one on DC.com, it's the same there and I imagine on most sports forums. The challenge here is not knowing a lot of the posters and not knowing where they're coming from and it's easy to go down the road before I realize I am at the same dead end.

And I do not discount the shape of the world around us or personal battles affecting how posters express themselves. Better frustration takes form here and some are allowed to vent with impunity and suffer only the push back from the forever optimystics. Optimystics are invincible for they can find that light in total darkness.

Good post.
We all get caught up in the moments too. Depending our own moods. Also it is at times hard to know the contexts of some posts. When we post, we know what we mean, but do not always word it the right way. I myself, have taken posts the wrong way.
So I try to post and offer what I think is a reasonable explanation, as to just posting a quick statement. But that is hard to do at times too.

Watching NFL Gameday right now, Jazz. Drinking my morning coffee, myself, bud.

Getting ready for the Pats game (have to see Brady back with the Jedi and Gronk, and also gonna switch back and forth to the Eagles game, hope Wentz fails, oh so badly!).

So incredibly hyped for our Boys game, today. I just hope it's close, either way. But a win will put me in the clouds. Just want to see Dak and Zeke continue their growth, if we get the win it's icing on the cake. I never expected us to start 3-1, it's oh-so-lovely!

Hope the little guy is up before the games start, as his Sunday breakfast is always a big'un, and takes a while to prepare. His reward for a hard week of school ahead. :) (I'm west coast, so we get 10am games :) )

Lets go back to when the Giants last won the SB in 2011. They were not favorites to even win the division, they had injuries and depended on their reserves. They had a good chief in E. Manning and pulled together for a great push to the SB. The Cowboys can also pull together with reserves and the right mindset to overcome difficulties as they are having. These younger players need to gain confidence, believe in themselves step up to the plate; they have something to prove and are given another chance to be starting material.

If losing builds character and foundation, then the Browns should be an awesome team to play for. Hehehe

I blindly cheer for the Cowboys regardless of who they are playing . If we lose I'm gonna go break something in a constructive manner.
