Hello everyone,
First I'd like to mention that I've visited this forum often and have found it to be a great place to come and not only get news on the 'Boys, but also a myriad of different topics touching on the many situations that arise during the season, off-season and pre-season. I'm particularly fond of the draft zone, and when I noticed the off-topic thread contained Star Wars and Game of Thrones topics, among others, I knew I was amongst my kinfolk.
In re: to my fandom - I grew up in a Commanders household but was immediately drawn to the Star, as were a few other brave family members. We certainly had it good in the early 90's, and I've been hoping (and still believe) that TR will return us to glory. As a former college athlete (baseball and football), I stayed busy with prep year round, and while I eventually lost the ability (or desire) to routinely follow all of my teams, I never could let go of the Cowboys.
Fast forward a decade or so after college, and as a result of my profession (Investment/Acquisitions Director for a commercial real estate development and asset management firm) I find myself constantly analyzing and playing out multiple scenarios on any given Sunday...and the subsequent week. In my quest to satiate my need for up to the minute knowledge, I eventually stumbled onto this gem of a site. I'm typically a bit reluctant to engage in dialogue as I can be very opinionated, but after finding myself constantly landing on this site and getting immersed in the discussions, debates, and dissertations contained within, I finally decided to take the plunge and risk public humiliation and rejection all in the name of Cowboys comraderie.
I hope I make the cut and that I can add a fresh perspective and some insight as a former athlete and lifelong fan who wants nothing more than to see us back on top.
...also, I absolutely despise Eli Manning. I doubt that's an issue but I thought I'd mention that in the interest of full disclosure.
Thanks all and I hope to engage in some banter soon!
