Life without Deuce Vaughan?

With better Oline coaches recently hired, our much younger but talented Oline should get better this upcoming 2025 season. This definitely works to Deuce's favor, thus if Deuce proves himself during training camp and preseason, he likely makes the Cowboys team as our 3rd RB. It would be whichever RB the Cowboys draft this year, 1 of the veteran RBs the Cowboys signed this offseason via free agency, plus Deuce.

Could anyone imagine the Cowboys without #42 this season? With our need for running backs that can make plays, is there a place for him on this roster?? What would keep him or cost him to not be a Cowboy?? Please give your thoughts
The chance of Vaughn becoming a starting NFL RB are the same as Dak becoming an elite QB

in the negatives

I saw an article mentioning a "Dallas playmaker" being in jeopardy of release as the draft approaches. The piece was about Deuce Vaughn of all people.

I'm sure that's what Coogi is referencing. Probably should have mentioned the article or linked it (if allowed).

Yes, he’s been a non factor since he’s been here

Whether his skillset just doesn't translate to the NFL (which I don't believe) or he has been used wrong he has been here two years and hasn't produced. But Malik Davis has been here three, so... Until there's too many RBs on the roster he's likely here.

Let me guess, sprinkled in the answers to this question is mix of, “they didn’t use him correctly”,”he didn’t get an opportunity”, and my favorite, “they needed to get him the ball in space”.

Here’s what’s likely to happen. The Cowboys wiff on drafting a true lead back and get a complimentary piece only. Someone gets dinged in the practice/pre-season opening the door for #42. He’ll give a couple really good moments against future cuts (not even JAGS) and this forum will explode with, “see…told ya.”

He’s going nowhere. Get used to it - Nepobaby rides again!

Please tell us that you changed your name to Duece Vaughn....if so, I will print and frame this thread title!!

I don’t think Deuce is more talented than Williams or Sanders.

But with his college OL coach coming to Dallas and deuce knows his scheme gives him a higher chance of making the 53. At worst, I see him sticking around the practice squad for another year or two.
